3 Older motel under New owners, never met them but wishing them luck!
First the good things, PROS
Clean room, updated bath room, flat panel tv, mini fridge, plenty of boat parking around back and 1/2 dozen or so charge stations, room was clean location a few blocks from downtown, beds comfortable, ac work fine. Rate with tax $100 and change ok rate for weekend,
Cons, property is a bit run down but going through renovations as our visit, our AC filter in room needed to be cleaned no biggie, took to shower and rinsed out!
making reservations was a bit hard, no one answered phone it was done through texting? We were told booked and then texted our card didn't clear? And probably number was entered wrong, but we called and texted when we could being on river in no cell zones seemed like we were becoming a problem guest! That said the next day as we got home the wife finally got our payment to owners!
Seems like off site owner's? Never met them and wished we could!
Again only a bar soap and no shampoo seems like the old owners traits still lingering! Couldn't find a ice machine? Fisherman like this amenitie! Didn't see a fish clean station not sure on site? Not sure how many rooms mm ay be renovated and how many were not so your experience could be different than ours! Missing a out door grill area? Picnic table? Maybe we missed this,
Not seeing owners on site could be problematic if issues would arise? And seeing they are spending money to reside the cheap original fasade vs some other critical area's that should be addressed first.
We will return and wishing this owner the best as the property has potential but missing reservations by not answering calls is a death sentence for any property! Especially with today's technology of VOIP internet phone, call forwarding, and answering services, or installing a on site property manager.
We come to the area frequently and have stayed here many times. Nice small town hotel with clean rooms. New owners as of the past week or so. Looks like they are doing lots of renovations and upgrades. Will be nice when grilling area is added. Easy check in process, owner responded quickly to texts and answered when I called.
Clean.reasonable prices. Owner is very friendly, would stay again.
