Got a local cider and pork tenderloin sandwich. They’re happy to make it however you want it, fried or on the griddle. Add cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles. And three potato choices: fries, crinkle fries, or tater tots!

I always enjoy myself here! The food and drinks are great, folks are friendly and it's women owned. It's handicapped accessible and the menu has something for everyone. Tuesday is $1 tacos all day. Shakespeare's never disappoints. There's an outdoor terrace too!

I ordered the breakfast plate and the hash browns were superior. My husband really loves the sausage but I don't care for it.

Our waitress started our on a very sour note, but I think by our reaction changed her attitude and finished in a good mood.

I heard from a friend that it was good, so my partner and I drove 15 min out of the way to get takeout for dinner. We get back to our house and the brisket on their mac and cheese was pure rubber and fat, it was inedible.

We called to see if they could do a refund, and they said that if we drove all the way back and the manager looked at it, we could get a refund. When we asked if we could speak to the manager on the phone, we were hung up on.

We drove AGAIN all the way back and had to wait several minutes to even speak to the manager, and the best they could do was a gift card which I will not be using, considering I’ll never be going back.

Terrible food, terrible customer service, and a terrible place to get dinner.

Over cooked meat. It's already dead, when you advertise its cooked to medium it isnt suppose to come to the customer over cooked and very dry. Got half of it choked down did not take the rest home.not even to give to my dogs. Wife had to send hers back 3 times. Forgot the cheese.bacon.and tried to pass hamburger for bison. 30+ yrs in the food industry we know the difference.wait staff which was plenty of that day but still couldnt get much service. Waited 20 mins for refill on our drinks and still never got it.even though they looked several times and seen we needed refills. If the owner (Susie) did an undercover boss ordeal and got the lack of service and food quality would have thrown a gasket. Its a shame how its gone down hill.unless you are having alcohol you than get service. If only I was wearing my spy cam to show bad it was.maybe if there is a next time but doubt it.

The bartender was friendly enough and very attentive. We ate outside and they will bring you a bowl of ice water for your dog on a hot day. We both ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and the fries were double battered and crispy to perfection. The pork tenderloin was a little too thick for me and while the batter was more like a beer or tempura batter and had an excellent crunch, it did lack a spice or seasoning. The pork tenderloin basket comes in at about $13.50. A bit pricey but good.

Neighborhood, not-college-scene bar with excellent service and food. Always friendly staff. No steps to enter from front. Only problem is not many parking spots.

Excellent food! Really large menu to select from. Food was ready fast and service was great. The Philly was unique and one of the best I've ever had. The french fries were crisp and fresh. Can't wait to eat there again!

What a cozy little place. We love this bar, the staff is always friendly, awesome drinks and the food.the food is everything! From their fried chicken salad to their burgers and pork loin sandwich. Delicious!

This place is phenomenal. Friendly, interesting atmosphere; delicious, unique, affordable food; welcoming, professional, high-quality service. Staff is kind, vibes are low-key, food is so good. I recommend the salmon and egg sandwich! Beer selection on tap decent, too, always something interesting and new.

Great food and experience! I've only been here during lunch time, but it is one of my coworkers and I 's favorite places to go! Friendly staff and a chill atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend, I'll be going again very soon!

If you are going to use a credit card be aware they will charge you a "convenience fee '. And you won't know until you've already put your credit card in the machine to pay. This is ridiculous. I'm going to have to think twice before I go back. Credit card fees are a part of doing business and it's going to be the waitress/waiters that will reap the results.

I lived in the east side of Iowa City for almost all my life. Not once did we ever visit this place. Boy, do I regret that! Went went on Tuesday for tacos, and they were great! I added salsa to mine and that topped them off perfectly!

I will be back. I want to try other items. I saw a lot of people getting wraps, and I do like wraps! But, it's hard to beat $1 tacos.

Great food and drinks. The cajun pasta and po boy on the Lent special menu are awesome! Also, Cucumber Mule!

This place is a staple of Iowa City. The staff are approachable, professional and good at what they do. Their rotating beer list is always phenomenal, new, and exciting. Their food doesn’t miss— from specials to classics (my favorite is their Reuben) they’ve got the best bar food in Iowa City HANDS DOWN.

Came in about midnight for appetizers. Super friendly service, great food and enjoyed catching some karaoke.
