Really disappointed in the ankeny location I've called all morning and no answer to try and get my grandson in to get his first hair cut there waited long to get help no one was at the desk but looks like the people were just to busy and didn't wanna help us and just had excuses so we left but it was rude of the lady I will never come back there again.

My son has longer hair and he was really in need of a trim. I took him here where I was given a new stylist in training who repeatedly asked how much to trim off and knew nothing of mens long hair cuts. His trim was not shaped or layered or anything to blend the trim. He looks like he got a bob. They asked me to pay before the cut was completed (hence why I didn't know he'd end up with a bob) and I was appalled when she told me it would be almost $30. Overpriced. Inexperienced. Not properly trained.

Staffs are very friendly and flexible. Kids are always happy with their haircut. Very neat and tidy place.

Absolutely life changing. My son went from kicking and screaming through home haircuts during covid to looking forward to trips to "the haircut store. " The entire drive home he's looking in the mirror talking about how handsome he is bragging about getting to sit in a big truck and how nice everyone was to him.

I brought my 2 1/2 yr old to get his first real haircut! They were AMAZING! The skill and knowledge is so clearly demonstrated by Kayla. We will definitely be coming back!

My 4 yr old granddaughters hairstylist was perfect! She did an excellent job cutting her hair she looked like an angel again when she was done & put a small braid in the front

Great experience. Took my son for his first haircut. He was throwing a fit, but they were so nice and patient. Helped make it special. Just wish the toys weren't on the way in.they were a bit too distracting for a toddler.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it's pretty pricey. However, I needed to take my boys somewhere that could work with their sensory issues. My boys have super curly hair but very sensitive heads so eventually the knots in the back were too bad for me to brush out. I was nervous that they would be upset having to cut their hair short but the ladies cutting their hair really helped them feel comfortable. They have fun chairs for the kids to sit in (geared towards toddler sized) and each station has a little TV and the kids get to pick what they want to watch (from a list). This will not be our go to place, especially since my kids are outgrowing the chairs (7 years old) ; but if we ever run into another problem that needs to be handled in a sensitive matter I will for sure go back. My kids not melting down is worth the money

They were both really nice and very Patient with my 1 year old thank you guys so much his hair cut looked very good!

We always have a great experience with our son who has had 3 haircuts here by his first birthday. Kayla Johnson is so patient and gives my son the best cut!

Amanda was such an amazing hair stylist she made my daughter feel very comfortable and was very calm with her and not giving us the hurry up out of here feel. Hands down We will now forever be clients of Amanda! She answered all of my questions with out making me feel like I annoyed her. You can really Tell Amanda loves her job! Kudos to you Amanda thank you!

They do a great job of cutting hair on a moving target (my toddler). My son loves going to the "haircut store" and feeding the monster. Great selection of merchandise, too, that's always changing.

Getting my autistic son’s haircut is never fun because of his sensory issues. But the store manager Alisha made it as pleasant as possible. She had lots of fidget distractions ready and was efficient with a great cut! Best part was no one making us feel guilty when he started crying! Definitely recommend

Alisha (sp?) is amazing. She takes time and gives my daughter a really cute cut every time. Costs more than Great Clips, but worth every penny.

Shear Madness made my daughter right at home. She had only been to a salon once and is a wiggle worm being 6. The stylist howver was super patient and I was able to help keep redirecting her to the tv. Afterwards we let her pick out a little stuffie and she is excited to come back again sometime!

My step daughter had temporary hair color put in. They did a good job and was very friendly.

Stylists were nice. Place was way over stimulating. Wall to wall toys, bows, bright colors, mirrors, tvs. I did like the variety of chairs for the kids to sit in for haircuts.

Kayla did great on my 2 year olds first haircut! She was very quick and was super good at pulling his attention to other things when he would start getting antsy! She is so good at what she does!

My son isn't a fan of getting his hair cut usually, but he absolutely loved it this time! The stylist was so kind and worked with him so well. She was quick and efficient and very thorough! I will not be taking him anywhere else to get his hair cut!

It was fine- the chairs kids sit in are dingy and dirty.
I'll go somewhere else next time.
