Very welcoming and professional. I took an instrument that has been passed down in the family and they got her ready to go for my daughter. Did an excellent job and I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg to do it. Very affordable and very respectable. I have been to other music stores and Sleister doesn't try to upsell you or do work that doesn't need to be done. They try to stay in your budget while making sure your instrument sounds great. Saved so much money and time by coming here instead of going to a franchise music store where you are just another transaction. I was pleasantly surprised at the time it took to get it cleaned and repaired. Worth the drive if you live in Central Iowa. 100% glad we came from Ames and found a place I can feel good about coming back. Thank you for being kind.

Great work on my tenor, pleasant to work with too. Needed to have saxophone completed by a certain date and they made that happen. They also repaired a flute and did a great job. Repair prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

My son cracked his trombone and we took it to Sister. They repaired it within just a couple days. They even provided a loaner so he didn't miss any music classes. Friendly and they know their business.

I called a couple of local music shops when my daughter selected percussion for 5th grade band and Sleister was by far the nicest and most accommodating (and competitively priced). When we went to pick up her percussion kit, they were welcoming and very helpful. I highly recommend!

Family owned, pleasant people, good customer service. Addressed all of my questions and random questions from my kids. Currently renting; would used them again. Only issue was that they’d recently moved and forgot to update the location on the auto-generated confirmation e-mail I received after completing the rental info online. But the new location was nearby and centrally located in Ankeny.

5th grade daughter wanted to try band, I had no idea about anything band related. I contacted a few companies and Sleister was the friendliest and most helpful. Plus their prices were better. The man on the phone told me that their goal is to make band more affordable for everyone. His son had opened the business with that goal in mind, they are family run and local. He answered all my questions and the book was included as well. They are located in Ankeny and delivered the instrument to my daughters school in Johnston for free.

Highly recommend Sleister Music! I could not find a baritone to rent for my son anywhere-and Sleister not only had a baritone, they had both new and used to choose from. Great service and even better prices. I got a great rate for monthly rental which I am sure would have cost me more elsewhere. 5 stars!
