Overall I get the impression this place hoards inventory:

Long ago I asked if they had a particular item and was answered with a “yes, they’re at the warehouse I have a box full. Took my name and number down and never called, emailed once, said “they’d let me know”.

Months later followed up about the same inquiry, and was answered with “yes I have it’s been sitting here in the store”.

They confessed they never went through the box, showed me the box, I offered a number, and was answered with “I have to check on the price idk what they are worth”.

I’m literally in person initiating a negotiation on an item that was inquired on months ago, and was rather denied because they never bothered to follow up, nor had any idea how to actively negotiate in person, rather rely on third party markets I.e. EBay, but…this is not the only business that does this now unfortunately.

What is sad is this is similar practice with many of the 2nd hand thrift shop, pop stores etc in Des Moines lately. Every establishment is referring to 3rd party markets online while snubbing local customers right in front of them because of essential hoarding and greed.

It is just overall not something I would support anymore. It’s a shame as I believe in supporting local, but it is hard to support businesses that do this. A shame…

My wedding set was appraised at almost 6,000 dollars but could only get a loan for 500.00. Yet when I left I run over to another pawn shop they gave me the 1500 dollar loan I needed.please check your options before settling with these guys.
