Last week, I made the switch from Mediacom to South Slope. Customer service has been fantastic. They took the time to answer all my questions. Very friendly service.

The installer came out with an apprentice. I opted to use my own Eero network, instead of South Slope's managed Wi-Fi service. The installer was having a heck of a time trying to get it installed. For anyone that has experience with Eero devices, it can be tricky to set up, across the board. Not only that, the poor guy kept getting blown up with phone calls from their main office and other installers with lots of questions. He clearly had a stressful day. (I've worked a high-stress job, I get it!) After trying his best attempts, he was stumped. Both guys spent a good two hours trying to troubleshoot everything they could think of. He suggested switching to their equipment and figuring out where to go from there. Possibly try contacting Amazon about the equipment and see what they say. They were both super nice guys. I certainly felt bad for the installer who was trying to juggle so much all at once. I can only assume he's a "go-to" guy with that many calls, asking technical questions.

I got in contact with the main office and explained the situation. I asked if they could find and schedule a technician that is very knowledgeable about Eero devices. To my surprise, she found someone had a tech come by an hour later. I am not used to that kind of service when I had Mediacom! I said "WAIT, what!? You're joking!? " To no surprise, this technician wasn't having the greatest luck either. He spent two hours troubleshooting everything he could, like the last two guys. The second tech said he never had issues this difficult with an Eero before. Finally, in one last random ditch attempt to try to get the Eero to connect. He got it. Of all things? It was my smart watch. My freaking smart watch! My watch was blocking the Bluetooth signal the Eero needed to connect to the app! He disconnected my watch and boom - problem solved. Who in the world would have ever guessed that would be the issue!?

I attempted to become a customer and scheduled with Amanda an installation for Tuesday. However, upon receiving the contract, I noticed several misspellings. I tried to contact the company to correct these errors but encountered technical difficulties to speak with anyone. On the day of the scheduled installation, I discovered that the main office was experiencing technical issues. Amanda informed me that because I had not completed the necessary paperwork promptly, the installation was not scheduled. Furthermore, my encounters with her left me feeling uncomfortable, and her manner of communicating with a prospective client is vastly different from the good customer service standards, compelling me to explore alternative service providers.

I've lived in Fairfax for 20 years and Southslope is the ONLY internet provider I have ever used and they have never given me a reason to leave. They provide the best customer service of any company I deal with on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with anything I buy. All companies should study their customer service model. No, I don't work there.

The gentleman that did the install was nothing but professional, courteous and helpful. New equipment had to be installed to upgrade our home to high speed fiber optic and his care and correctness in this installation and respect for walls and surrounding structures was remarkable and obvious. He took his time to explain the equipment, troubleshooting and walked me through the initial login. He arrived exactly on our scheduled installation time. It could not have gone any better or easier. The speed and quality of the service is amazing. South Slope has certainly earned my endorsement.

After a brief power outage at 8pm, we had issue with internet connection. After a quick call to customer service. A super nice, Very knowledgeable technician came out right away and diagnosed the issue and had it fixed in about 20 minutes.

The customers' service was horrible, the supervisor Amanda, was rude, and she belittled me; she was short and unwilling to help. I have been a customer for three years, and she was not willing to listen; all she wanted to do was lecture me about the new policy moving forward; Amanda was not helpful; all she cared about was getting an additional $300.00 deposit from me even though I’m a current customer. I borderline felt bullied.

During what I assume are high volume times, evenings and weekends, the internet drops frequently. Very disappointed in the service for the price.
Update- I wanted to update this review. South Slope sent a technician out to update some equipment. I also purchased a new router. My routers in the past have been plug and play, but this particular router was challenging (my router, not one South Slope provided). I called the service line for South Slope on a holiday and the technician walked me through the set up and was as patient as he could be. We have not had any issues since that time and are very happy with our service.

Recently switched to one of the newer plans and couldn’t be happier with the faster speeds. Customer service staff is extremely courteous and helpful. The technicians are knowledgeable and punctual. In 4 years we have had 1 outage that maybe lasted 30 minutes. Very happy to have them service our community and would highly recommend to those looking for a reliable ISP.

The lowest latency and highest uptime I've ever seen from an ISP. They deliver the promised speeds consistently. My friends talk about great support, but I've never had to use it.
