This Little Deli is a total Delight to dine in, Tucked into the north side of this landmark building "Brick and Tile Building" The State Street Deli offers, Great Food & Drinks, Great Atmosphere, Great Staff. If you haven't had this dinning pleasure. TRY IT!

Real deli delights and interesting combinations. Loved the baked beans but did not care for the cole slaw. The hot pastrami was delicious!

The best Deli I have went to ever! Great food and great service! The sandwiches are fresh and delicious! My favorite is a Cuban sandwich with a side of potato salad and almond cupcake,!

Love this place. I am working my way through their menu and ten different sandwiches in I've yet to try something I don't like.
Their signature 'creations' menu is unparalleled. On a cold rainy day, nothing hits the spot like a Michigan Ave. The peppered toasted sourdough is a revelation. But definitely try all the creations and especially the temporary specials (the holiday sandwich aka 'xmas n July' makes Monte Cristos weep with envy at the expense of being a lil messy.)
Speaking of messy, the chicken salad has a hard time staying in the bread but I'll forgive them for it because they season it with an insane amount of dill, which is the correct application for that spice.

Other points.
Owners are always nice to me and I've never seen them not working behind the counter with staff.
Same staff, not a lot of turnover as far as I can tell.
I've always felt full and satisfied after eating here.
Fresh vegetables as far as I can tell, at least in season.
Convenient location downtown.

Best Deli in the area. Great selection of sandwiches. Speedy service. And a punch card to earn free sandwiches.

First time visiting this establishment got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich it was very flavorful pasta salad was very tasty. It even comes with a crunchy pickle. If you are wanting a good homemade sandwich this is the place to go. We will be back.

Visited for lunch. Had the Cuban and potato salad. Probably the best Cuban I've had. Service was fast and friendly. Even though it was lunch, the line went quick.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and wow was I impressed. Don't live in town but my girlfriend kept telling me I needed to try it. Staff were incredibly friendly, both of our sandwiches were top notch and the store was very clean and nice. Can't wait to come back and try more items off of the menu

Went there on a recommendation from a local. Was within walking distance from the South ridge mall. Got the Wacker Drive, with coleslaw side. Both were excellent, and the owner was very nice guy! Ill be back again when in town!

There is nothing on this planet like biting into a Michigan Avenue sandwich after getting off a long day at work and you’re hungry as all getout. My husband likes the hot beef sandwich with cheddar on it. They also have an incredible bacon egg and cheese bagel, and i like to get it with the raspberry Chipotle mayo on it. They’re super friendly and I’m such a regular there that some of the staff, including one of the owners, knows my order.
As far as sandwich quality, they’re super generous with the meat and cheese portions on the sandwich and they use really nice meat. Tastes incredible. The raspberry Chipotle Mayo is much more savory than sweet, but does have a sweet element to it. They’ll even sell their meat and cheese (but not the bacon, i asked) by the pound.

Me and my partner have visited State street Deli several times for a quick hot lunch as we live nearby. Each time our food has been excellent and reasonably-priced. I also enjoy the atmosphere as it seems to be a nice little family-owned business

The food is delicious, always fresh and always served with a smile. The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant is always clean.
If you haven’t tried this restaurant out, I would certainly recommend it. They have a very good variety of deli sandwiches and sides.
You won’t be disappointed!

My mom and I wanted a sandwich so I did a Google search and this place popped up. So glad we tried it! I got the chicken bacon ranch and it was so good! The bread was super fresh and delicious! And the chocolate chip cookies were yummy, but the chocolate cupcakes were amazing! Can't wait to go back!

Breakfast was OK, doughy plain bagel. Not what we consider Deli food. The staff are very friendly.
