I have been seeing Dr. Elgin for about 3 to 4 years now and he has been very patient with me and gentle. Talks to me about everything and explains everything to me so I can understand. I will not go to another doctor for this care.

Had a total hysterectomy by laparoscopy. Did not have to use any pain pills, just extra strength Tylenol. Wonderful caring knowledgeable and compassionate care. You are in great hands with Dr Elg and his staff!

First off I want to thank Dr. Elg
He is so kind/ gentle and very straight forward I was referred to Dr. Elg and I’m so glad he took me in and he realized how bad I needed this surgery within a couple days of meeting Dr. Elg I got my surgery and he is the best I have had very little pain didn’t have to be heavy medicated tynelo worked just fine for my pain my incision looks so good. I highly recommend Dr. Elg and everyone at his office is so kind and welcoming he definitely has the best team.

Dr. Elg and his nurse Cathy are absolutely wonderful. I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in situ back in December of 2021. From the minute I came to see Dr. Elg, I knew I was in good hands. As a matter of fact, he came with high recommendation from two friends. I underwent two cone biopsies with him, and it was a smooth process. He was very matter of fact (which I appreciate), explained things to me in a way I could understand, answered any and all questions, and overall is a caring doctor. I am pleased with my outcome, and if I had to do it all over again, I’d choose Dr. Elg.

Instead of saying he didn't have enough skill set to treat me and recommend a second opinion, he told my cousin and I that if he did my ovarian cancer debulking surgery, he would probably shorten my life and that if I rolled over in the hospital bed, my guts could come out of my incision. He basically gave me a death sentence. I went to Iowa City and they saved my life, instead of telling me I didn't have any chance to survive. I won't ever recommend him to anyone I know.

Dr. Elg is the best surgeon I've known over the years. He and his caring staff gave me excellent care both in and out of the hospital. I feel very blessed to have gotten such an excellent professional to perform surgery that was absolutely life saving to remove a very large mass that was literally squeezing the life out of me. I am certain he and his staff did their very best to make certain I received the best care possible. The care I received while in the hospital and at visits pre surgery and post surgery could not have been better.

Dr. Elg and his staff are very nice and professional. I was very surprised at his availability, I know he must be very busy but twice when I was worried and had questions he personally answered the phone and in one case scheduled me to come in right away to alleviate my concerns and fear. That means a lot to me, more than I can express. Thank you Dr. Elg & staff.
