UPDATE (December 2023) : This is follow up info on the continued terrible treatment by the Iowa City SROA, read the rest of the review first. Received a call shortly after posting this review apologizing for all of the issues. A refund was "processed" and I was told it would be another 8-12 weeks before I received the refund. Unfortunately, as expected, the refund never came and I am not going to wait any longer for a refund im never going to receive. Additionally, the manager felt it was okay for them to ask me to change my review once I receive my refund (which again I never did) as if getting half of my money back after getting absolutely no service from the company and horrendous management deserves any sort of positive review. Looking at the reviews now I see many people had similar issues to me, please do not ignore these reviews. The location was new when I rented and there were no negative reviews like this for me to expect such terrible treatment from but you can avoid it now. There are plenty of non-predatory storage businesses in Iowa City that won't treat you like scum.

(March 2023) Terrible service. Rented a unit using a promotion listed on the website in the SUMMER OF 2022. One of the units was a slightly better deal than the rest so naturally I chose that one. Went in to sign the lease and pay but the promotion did not apply and they had swiped my card before telling me such. So I ended up paying more than double what I anticipated. I was upset so I asked for a refund but I was denied a refund for the current month so I filed a refund for the next month. I was told they began processing and said it would be 2-3 months before I received the refund. That time came along and I called them to check up and they said they were under new management so they apologized for the delays. I forgot about the situation so I called back again today (a couple months later) and I was told they do not refund or prorate rent. They said that was never a part of their policy and that she'll forward the request to their boss who "will tell you the same thing". The person I spoke with was rude and had an attitude for some reason.

All around terrible service. The facility is nice but the management is straight up horrendous. I am very frustrated with the money I lost and the service I didn't recieve. I do not write reviews but as a struggling college student this was extremely upsetting so I wanted to share so others don't get used and disregarded as I was.

Staff is very helpful, the space is affordable and climate controlled, and they even offer carts for loading your items in and out! Highly recommend.

Rates are good but I didn't get any contact from them to get my code or free lock. Called what is supposed to be 24 hour service and had to leave a message. I might revise this once I can actually talk to someone

Update: Got a call from the property manager. She was pleasant and helpful. All is well. I would suggest a bit more informative communication or a better follow-up from local staff. I am fairly picky about service.

•the first floor unit that we contracted for was taken by someone else.
•no resolution to get it back.
•2nd floor was NOT climate control
•poor communication - took months to straighten out the invoice
•sent in writing what day we would be out and again…mistakes were made.
•tried to tell them that they had the incorrect move out date and the response I got was “I already moved you out of our system”

This storage unit company is an absolute disaster! They lured me in with the promise of 2 free months, a promotional offer I should have been excited about, but it turned into a never-ending nightmare. As a veteran with valuable military gear inside, I needed a reliable storage solution, but this company proved to be anything but reliable.

Right from the start, I had to constantly call them and fight tooth and nail to get the promotion I was promised. The site manager (Taylor) was well aware of my situation, and despite having screenshots of the confirmation and promotion, they only gave me one free month and kept saying they were "working on" the second.

Dealing with their call center was a nightmare in itself. Every time I called, I had to re-explain my situation to a new agent, and the moment they sensed any frustration in my voice, they threatened to hang up. Seriously? Is that how you treat your customers?

I decided to visit the local office to sort things out, and while Taylor remembered who I was, the reassurances she gave were empty words. As I reached what was supposed to be my second free month, I received messages saying my unit was past due, and when I showed up on the weekend, they had the audacity to lock my unit, making it inaccessible.

I called their call center again, and despite being in dire need due to military duty, they callously said it would take 24-48 hours for someone to reach out. They left me stranded, forcing me to lose a day's pay as I waited for the office to open on the start of the week.

Even then, their so-called "district manager" never bothered to call me as promised. Their lack of communication and disregard for my military duty cost me dearly. I had no choice but to leave for my duty station without my equipment, facing reprimand and losing more pay.

To add insult to injury, when my girlfriend stayed back to deal with them, all they could muster was a half-hearted apology. The incompetence and unprofessionalism displayed by this company are beyond belief.

In conclusion, I will never, ever recommend this pathetic excuse for a storage unit business to anyone. Save yourself the headache, avoid their misleading promotions, and steer clear of their dreadful service. I urge my fellow veterans, friends, and colleagues to look elsewhere for a reliable and respectful storage solution, as this company clearly has no understanding of customer care or responsibility.

Great storage for affordable price, staff was very friendly and supportive! I have moved 3 times and this was the BEST storage experience I had DEFINITELY recommended!

Total bait-and-switch. After two months of renting they nearly doubled the price on us out of nowhere. The communication is horrible, they never respond to emails. The units themselves aren't bad, but that kind of management is irresponsible and dishonest.

It was very busy. Elevator took awhile and aisles very narrow so have to wait for people to pass in order to get to your unit or to elevator. Not many carts are available.

Taylor and Morgan were very helpful in answering all of my questions and getting me set up with a unit. The facilities are very clean, up-to-date and perfect for my storage needs. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for storage in the Iowa City area. You also cannot beat the price!

I would like to have the opportunity to use your restrooms when nobody is in the office. I do know why they are now closed and the lady who did not quite make it in time did go directly to the office immediately and told the lady she had an accident and could not make it so she had made a mess. Just because it was an uncontrolled accident should not make your company close down the restrooms ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE CLOSED ALL DAY DUE TO STAFFING ISSUES. PLEASE THINK OF YOUR CUSTOMERS AND REOPEN YOUR RESTROOMS. THANK YOU!
