Surgery Center Cedar Rapids

I had surgery on my hand (thumb) yesterday, I’m pretty sure it’s a common surgery with no complications but I get very anxious when it comes to IV’s. Marcy was my pre-op nurse and she went out of her way to keep me calm and was so patient with me and talking me through it, I am grateful for her. The whole staff at the surgery center is awesome, but Marcy went above and beyond. I don’t know her last name but I hope she sees this.

My son had tubes but into his ears while I had a tonsillectomy. Before this day, I was emotionally anxious and scared. I've prayed and so did my family and friends. Let's just say, I bless GOD for this wonderful care, staff, and doctor that took care of us. They also helped my husband feel comfortable as well. Our son was spoiled with love and care and so was I. I hope and pray that GOD just bless them with their daily needs and send the HOLY SPIRIT to tend to them. Thank you for the love, care, and pleasant heartwarming humor during our time with you all. We love you so much even though we don't personally know ya'll. Blessings be upon you all.

They allowed the wrong surgery to be Performed on me, despite telling every single person I encountered what was to be done In fear that the wrong surgery would happen. No one there advocated for the patient, but instead put me to sleep and allowed a rogue surgery to happen which destroyed my foot

Care was top notch; however, please save yourself the after shock and just call your insurance. Do not waste your time with an inaccurate, and grossly undercut estimate that they will encourage you to receive.

My daughter (2.5 years old) had tubes put in here. The staff was exceptional. The nurse who collected my daughter for the procedure was so sweet and caring; my daughter didn't even cry when she had to leave without me.

The areas were clean. Each patient had their own waiting space instead of being in a room with a bunch of other people.

The procedure was quick, and we were discharged a timely manner.

The individual staff were nice, but I had an overall horrible experience here. After checking in, we were taken to a teeny, tiny, closet-size little "room", with no privacy and not even enough room for myself, the person driving me, and the nurse. Everything was rushed. Rushed to get my IV in. Rushed to get me back for the procedure. Some of the monitoring equipment was broken so rushed to try to find a replacement (twice).

There was ZERO recovery time after surgery, and not enough rooms available for all the patients who needed them. The last phase of recovery is in another claustrophobic little room. As soon as I was moved to that room they were telling me to get dressed and ready to go. We were bundled out the door literally 15 minutes after I woke up, and I got sick after we got home from the car ride upsetting my still-not-settled stomach.

Now I find out in spite of the doctor, doctor's office and surgery facility being "in network" for my insurance, they use out-of-network anesthesiologists so I have to fight to try to get insurance to cover their almost $5,000 bill. I haven't even gotten the bill in the mail yet and they've already given my number to some third-party debt collector (734 area code) who's started texting me about my bill.
