Taste of New York Pizza, Waukee IA

Waukee is lucky to have Taste of New York Pizza in their own backyard. This is something you would find in Brooklyn & not in Waukee. Very easy to grab one of their lunch specials over lunch. They have a drive-thru pizza lane, too. That's unheard of. In less than five minutes, you can be on the road with the best slice of pizza anywhere near Des Moines. Don't sleep on this Waukee. This is the real deal.

I recently visited Taste of New York Pizza and was transported straight to the streets of New York City. The garlic knots were the perfect start to the meal and the rice balls were the real deal! The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made me feel like I was truly sitting in a New York pizzeria. Overall, if you're looking for authentic New York-style pizza and atmosphere, Taste of New York Pizza is the place to go!

Best pizza I've had! I dined in and had the margherita pizza and tried rice balls for the first time. Amazing! Plus they have a drive thru if you don't have time to sit in.

Everything was absolutely delicious, great workers, highly recommend if you love pizza. The pizza was perfect, the dough wasn't undercooked for the crust toppings were perfect ratio to the size of slice you get. It was just all around amazing.

Waited 10 minutes while they were having conversations with friends instead of helping customers. Turns out it was ready 15 minutes ago. Go elsewhere

The pizza is always amazing but we tried their garlic knots and fried ravioli for the first time and holy cow, SO GOOD. Service was spot on, per usual!

Food is good not the best in town but the packaging sucks. They put my sides on top of my very greasy pizza, leaked out of the bag and on my clothes. Not happy about it.

The food is amazing and delicious! The place is well kept. The workers are very nice and the young man at the counter is friendly and gave amazing customer service!

If you want to wait 25 minutes in the store as you watch all the other walk ins come and go, this is the perfect place for you. I was so excited to try their calzone, until they handed it out to another customer and lied to my face saying calzones take 25 minutes to heat up. I watched them put this specific calzone in 10 minutes before I was handed my food. After being tired of waiting I asked if I could just cancel the calzone so we could go and was told no that it was almost done and I could wait. The pizza slices we received were cold.

They have decent pizza, but for the poor customer service we will pass and go to one of the cheaper pizza places.

Amazing food and great staff! Very attentive & knowledgeable and the food is out of this world. The garlic knots are great for any time - mid day snack or as a side with our meals. Try the money bag pasta and rice balls… to die for! And, of course, the pizzas are all fantastic! If you’re longing for a taste of the Big Apple, or just want great Italian food, this is it.

BEST pizza in town! I’m your basic pepperoni pizza gal…their pizza is hands down the best one I’ve tried. I usually get one slice and a salad, those two things pair together so well…. *chefs kiss*
When it’s a take out night, we do pepperoni and a margharita pizza. My brother LOVES the margarita pizza. Did I mention their garlic knots are also so good? ! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Now…I know we’re all about food reviews and how good it is but I must say that the employees at Taste Of New York are so kind and generous! They truly are on top of everything and make sure that you are completely satisfied when you leave. Great food, great staff and a clean restaurant overall, it can’t get any better than that! 100% recommend this location!

Went in for lunch and got a slice of the lasagna pizza. It was really good. The guy behind the counter was helpful.

Tried it for the first time and it was delicious! The price seems high until you see how big the pizza is. We had the Tony's special and would highly recommend it.

They can't even warm up pizza slices. This place will be a Mexican restaurant in 6 months like all Iowa restaurants because at least they can heat up food.
