The Coffee Belt, Muscatine IA

UPDATE: some time ago I had asked a barista to make an iced Americano for me actually using the hot shots instead of cold brew (as the tastes are different) and they made it as I asked. They’ve now updated their method of making them and the americanos are now great. The shop has really grown and is now a stop for me multiple times a week. I love the Coffee Belt. Moving from three starts to five!

This is a coffee shop I really want to love, but just can’t quite. The baked goods they offer are great and the atmosphere is great. I have enjoyed their lattes but their is one thing I cannot get past, the quality of their americano, particularly iced. Iced Americano is typically the only thing I order anywhere with some exception and the ones at the coffee belt just taste so watered down. I am not sure what process they follow to make them or how much espresso they use, but I try and try again and they never do it for me. If you like sweet drinks then this is the place to be but if you like straight espresso and water, maybe not for now until they can figure out americano.

The Coffee Belt has been setting up shop at our headquarters building while our break room gets a makeover. We absolutely enjoy the fresh coffees, teas and scones they have been providing! If you haven’t been to the Coffee Belt yet, don’t wait, they are wonderful and have absolutely fantastic employees!

Honestly, this place is amazing. Not just for coffee but also teas, and hot chocolates of all kinds. You like boba? This place has that too!

Warm friendly environment with a cool vibe to it. Great for all ages as well.

Outstanding scones, cinnamon rolls, pastries, and coffee concoctions. A comfortable atmoshere in historic downtown Muscatine.

Took about 30 minutes for a coffee and plain latte. They were struggling, maybe just an off morning but be prepared to wait. Coffee was okay though.

First time in this establishment. I had a young lady waiting on a Sue was very pleasant. But, one of her friends came in and she stopped what she was doing and made her drink before everybody else has. So, it took us a while longer to get our drink than it really should have. And even then it was kind of slow. Will consider changing my ranking after I return again. Everybody deserves a second chance. Returned, much better this time.

Great locally owned coffee shop. Their seasonal menu offers something for everyone and they have a variety of sugar free flavors. They offer delivery which is great and placing a large group order via phone is super easy.

I just got a caramel latte. It was way better than I thought it would be. Loved it and will be back. First time customer. *****

The employees there are friendly and conscientious about your order. Which they make quickly and correctly. A few men gather there for our Christian Men's Group, it is very welcoming there that it can be held there. Sometimes we are allowed to use Guadalajara to meet in.

Such a great atmosphere and friendly staff. They came out with the larger cups so that is great! Offered suggestions and the drink they suggested tasted Amazing. Definitely returning for coffee dates with my daughter.

The coffee was really good but I will say the cookies were so good I can see my self going back just to pick up a cookie.

Tried the Girl Scout lemon cookie frappuccino and it was amazing. One of the best drinks I’ve ever had! I usually get an horchata latte, but hoping the lemon cookie frappuccino stays for a while:)

Great Coffee shop! They have pretty much everything you ask for in a Coffee Shop: fast wifi (I clocked it at around 40 Mbps), an area for work with laptop and workspace amenities, area for lounging on couches, etc. Good for any occasion. Great coffee too! However, the atmosphere is what I look at the most when visiting Coffee Shops, anyone can make a latte. Their atmosphere is great, I only wish they stayed open later, but I understand that Muscatine probably does not have the foot traffic to be open until 9pm or so. It's a shame, but not the Coffee Belts fault.

Every time I walk into the coffee shop I am greeted by a great staff and they offer exceptional customer service in person and over the phone. Alex and Lizett are always a pleasure to see every morning with their great attitudes and they know what drinks I like! They also offer a reward program that gives you great discounts!
