The District: Czech Village & New Bohemia reviews
14Went with my mom and this year my aunt to the annual Christmas festivities that they hold every year to celebrate the Czech Christmas traditions. Czech town has a few little stores and annual festivities in the summer celebrating the morel mushroom. It's called hobby days. Check it out it's a great time to spend with family and learning new things.
I am so glad we took the afternoon to visit this museum and library. I could have spent the whole day at the library searching their archives for family members. The older gentleman in the library was so helpful. The staff in the museum were friendly.
Resilient and awesome. Rotating displays keeps it interesting. Great library and gift shop too.
I drive here to see what's going on usually in the town every day and when I roll through there people always have a smile on their face and they always wave with a friendly hello very good place to go to visit to drink beer and whatnot with families and everything
Awesome little place to spend an afternoon. There are lots of shops to browse and a couple of restaurants.
Best salon services in Cedar Rapids hands down! I drive over 100 miles just for the professional personalized services given by Crystal!
I love spending time in this area, it's beautiful, has a lot it brings to the city, but I cannot help but think about the affordable housing that was destroyed while building this area up.
I went there for a Farmer's Market near the Chrome Horse. Lots of kind and creative folks. So hot, so didn't stay long, no ones fault, but Mother Nature. Discovered The Enlighted Forest Boutique. Nice young lady, bought a dress and LOVE it! You should search it on Facebook for their website.
We were driving by and thought it woul be interesting to stop by and check out the Czech and Slovak Museum and Library just to learn about the culture.plan to spend 2-3 hours to go through the museum properly. Unfortunately we did not have that much time, but the 1-1.5 hours we spen there was interesting.
Any one visiting CR, Iowa needs to go there, a very great cultural experience. Have to try Lucky's Restaurant. Awesome food.
Too many stores are closed or not opened on Tuesday when we were there. Those that were open had friendly staff and lots to see
Fun little downtown shop experience. Similar to what you might find in Le Claire or Galena. Antique shops and restaurants and bars. Just a good vibe all around.
What a Great Place! We were looking forward to going here, but door was locked. As we were walking away the door opens and a gentleman invites us in, he says just closing, but happily reopens just for us. Very friendly and helpful service, the building and decor was something from a long ago era, simple and weathered.and wonderful.
And of course the Pastries were Delicious, nice selection and fresh.
Very much recommend.
Outstanding ethic museum! Helpful and knowledgeable staff made this a great place to visit. Hope to return as there is much to see and would like to spend more time.
