Had a terrible experience today at the College of Dentistry, June 13th, 2023.

Went there to get a cavity fill and was told I didn't have a cavity and just needed sealant. I was super happy about that I didn't have a cavity and was fine with getting sealant.

I'm not sure who the instructor is for Minor Operations, but he was male and came off a bit rude to the students when he would come over and check on them. After we completed my sealants I came back due to me having an additional question since I saw something off on my tooth and just wanted to confirm it was nothing serious. Instead of just answering my question, I can tell the instructor was heavily annoyed I came back for my follow up and kind of treated me like I was a bit dumb/nuisance. I'm sorry, but I'm paying co-pay, out-of-cost expenses, and more importantly, don't want to wait until SPRING 2024 to correct something that only Minor Operations can do. So I'm sorry if my question annoyed you.

I left out of there immediately after sensing that, and when I pulled up to the parking ramp to pay the toll booth, the person working at the booth got EXTREMELY angry at me because I was scanning my parking pass a few times (only because the total didn't change - which is also doesn't make a lot of sense in the first place). Anyways, he snatches it out of my hand and rips it, and was talking down to me when I paid with my card. I told him I didn't need his help and he got mad and stormed back to his office. Completely rude, unprofessional, and very unwarranted.

I have no clue what is going on, but this was the most horrible experience I had at this place yet. I have no clue why everyone is so angry or so short tempered.

Would rather pay expensive out of cost procedures than return to place. Definitely looking into other options for a dentist provider. BEYOND ridiculous

I am a Ukrainian refugee, I was referred to this institution by my dental clinic in Dubuque because I have a state insurance, and UI officially works with the state insurance provider. I have been calling University of Iowa (College of Dentistry) for 5 months in a row, and was constantly sent from one department to another, or was asked to call in a month. They are simply avoiding me as a client. This is so disappointing! I cannot get services I need!

Every person that helped me on any tooth work I needed was amazing! I just had a root canal completed yesterday and had NO ISSUES! It went perfect! They are all great over there!

My son got all four of his wisdom teeth removed recently and everything was top notch. Great communication, professionalism, and atmosphere. His surgery went perfectly. Shout out to Olivia in reception, who has the patience of a saint!

I want to have a consultation for my wisdom teeth. Everyone was professional and friendly! I feel like those who helped me went above and beyond. The dentist is professional and personable.

I have been a patient for the past decade and although I have dental insurance coverage locally, I still travel over 200 miles round trip to receive my dental needs. Without questioning my choice.

I enjoy my visits at the Ul college of Dentistry, The staff are courteous and friendly. My most recent visit was very pleasant, my hygienist are very nice and friendly. I highly recommend UI dentistry and without dental insurance, it is the place to be. Affordable treatment plan.

Universally friendly and professional providers, be they students or faculty. Things can take slightly longer, but that is more than accounted for in the price that you pay for the services. While obviously I did not enjoy my visits, I have never had a time where I did not feel that I could ask any questions that I had, or that I was not receiving anything less than excellent care.

My daughter had teeth removed by Dr Fridrich. He did a wonderful job. He was patient with her when she was nervous. Him and the other staff took great care of her. Ms Becky (perhaps from the Child Life department) held her hand the whole time and then sent her home with a goody bag.

They helped me so much with my son’s dental work. He needed a root canal and he felt so comfortable. Dr. O is the best. I wish we could have her as our primary for life! She’s amazing. She was caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and validated my concerns. The nurse’s & support staff were wonderful. If I could give a higher score I would.

Me and my wife had dental treatment from this clinic. And our experience was excellent. We went there for deep cleaning service. But they also took care of other needs at the same time. There initial treatment procedure is a little lengthy and the appointments are not readily available. But they take time to make sure everything is perfect. All the staffs and students were very friendly and polite. They took care of us like they are taking care of themselves. Experienced teachers were always there along with the students when needed. I don't think any professional dentist would give us the service same level as they did. I will highly recommend them if anybody needs any dental treatment. And if I need any service, I will definitely visit them again.

I had a caring, patient, and highly competent fourth year dental school student do the vast majority of my work. I was never nervous about the process because she would always tell me what she was doing and to tell her if anything hurt. I was sometimes frustrated by the sheer number of appointments I needed to attend consider that I had no major work done. However, this was a lot more affordable than a traditional dental office.

After nearly half a century in my mouth, we bid farewell to R7 & L5 (or was it L6?)! Alas, poor molars (musta been L6)! I knew them well. Broken and decayed, they were the first - and, one hopes, the last - of their ranks to be forcibly yanked from their over-crowded home.
That humble home and the neighborhood - indeed, the entire island - surrounding it are forever indebted to UI College of Dentistry and to W. Dittman & his comrades (above, beside & below in ranks) for the exemplary performance of their duties and their compassion, care and commitment.
They have saved this island from the ravages of infection, and though it's pudding and pablum today, we may look forward to a future bright with peanuts and popcorn - thanks to these dedicated professionals and the institution which produces and supports them.

The women at the front desk were so thoughtful. I was called and one of them told me I was up next. I got up fast when she called, so when I got to the desk, I was dizzy, which I mentioned. She asked if I wanted water and I said yes. She brought me iced water.

However, though the students and faculty were good, at what they were doing, I was told by the time I got to my car, I wouldn't be feeling near as much pain (dry socket, a medicated strip was applied). At home, an hour later, I was still in pain. I think he was exaggerating.

The College of Dentistry is a prestigious institution that forms part of the University Hospitals. It provides dental health services to thousands of Iowans every year. They go at their own pace and you have to plan ahead of time to ser a doctor. I prefer a family dentistry plan
. A few years ago I uploaded a pic of the building taken from the north side, and it has been seen millions of times!

They were very nice but had such a bad experience, there college students learning on you. I went in for a root canal that was suppose to be 30-60 min long I was there from 9am-5pm! They put a rubber band thing around your mouth so nothing falls in while they’re doing it but I had lidocaine fall in my mouth down my throat I started gagging. Then the drill got stuck in the rubber band mouth guard and cut the inside of my lip, not far after that the drill got stuck in my tooth. I had so many needles go in my mouth I felt like I was being tortured, the lady kept saying we are almost done just another hour or 45 min it was never that time just kept passing by I will never ever go here again!

15 years ago I went to the iowa school of dentistry and they said I needed some work done on some cavities the student dilled alot on my teeth I was kinda shocked how much he drilled out. I noticed when the teacher come to look at his work he had kinda of a shocked look in his eyes but I assumed these are the professionals. Well 15 years later almost all the teeth he worked on are cracking and falling apart

Dr. Sandra Cunha was very friendly, extremely attentive.
She gave careful detailed explanation about the steps of treatment, its risks and benefits. Short waiting time. Reception greeting was great. I shall recommend The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics without any reservations.

You receive great care, appointments tend to last longer due to the work being don't by students but they do a good job. Prices are lower than you will find at any other dental office.

No idea how their teeth cleaning services are but the customer service skills for the lady answering the phone and scheduling apts is terrible. 0/10 do not recommend.
