The Vault Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, Dubuque IA

Beautiful atmosphere and structure. The food quality was no where near as good as it was post c-19. We were somewhat disappointed.

Haven’t had a server this great in a long time. Not only was she very attentive, she had a great personality. Keep Joyce as long as you can!

Our dinner here was amazingly tasty. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms as an app and they were so good. I had the steak smothered French onion style and that was so tasty. The mashed potatos were garlicky and yummy. My husband had the Parmesan crusted salmon and it was everything and more. Great service and some easy listening live music made the experience even better for a Wednesday night date night!

We ordered three items on the menu and
2 out of 3 were great. The chicken wings app and the Patty Melt were delicious. Unfortunately, the Chipotle Blackened Chicken wrap was 90% lettuce and lacking in flavor. The rest of the ingredients for the wrap were used very sparingly, or not at all (no tortilla chips). We did not see or taste any of the blackened seanoning on the small pieces of chicken either. Needless to say, I would not order that item again. It was not worth the $14 we paid. The service was great.

Fantastic service. Great food and friendly staff. The appetizer’s were fantastic. Jon the bartender was excellent. Wagyu sliders were unbelievable!

The building was constructed in 1901 as the German bank and it's claim to fame was a 3 story vault. I didn't see where the vault is still in the resturant though. They have a small drink menu if various cocktails tom collins, margaritas, wines, whiskey, cognac for before or after meal cocktails. The.enu had a few starter options and then pasta, chicken, steak options. I choose the penne option and it was very delicious. We had a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed there lunch meal. One tv that is above the bar for entertainment if you looked for that otherwise a good place to have a conversation with your guests.

This is my go to restaurant and I’ve never been disappointed!
My favorite dishes are the braised beef tortellini, prime rib French dip, and the French onion steak.
Best drink is the Lavender bees knees.
The atmosphere is fun and the service is always top notch!

Eating in the basement of an old bank. There still is the vault, hence the name, in the dining room.

We were in Dubuque this past weekend and wanted to eat dinner at Pepper Sprout. We walked into Pepper Sprout around 3: 30 p.m. And the gentleman at the bar said they wouldn't be open until 5 p.m. We decided to go a block down the street and went into The Vault - best mistake ever! We had the gnocchi, the apple feta salad, the buffalo chicken salad a cajun soup, and for dessert, chocolate chip cake. All of it was flavorful fresh and delicious - an artisanal culinary delight. The atmosphere and service were excellent. The restrooms were very clean - something we should all want when dining out. By the time we left at 5: 30 pm, people were lining up to get in. Tip: get there early or you may have to wait.

Traveled from Wisconsin to our favorite town in Iowa for our 22nd anniversary. Had a delicious lunch and loved the atmosphere, food, drinks, and service. Will be back!

Really disappointing food. I got the gnocchi, which was balls of soft glue. They were either raw or cooked wrong because I couldn’t even pick it up with the fork. My husband got steak with mashed potatoes. They serve the potatoes in a dish on the side, look terrible and tasted like the kind you get from a lunch cafeteria. The menu and service were spot on, but the food execution was bad.

Overall really good food, getting the check seems to always be a problem and this place didn’t fall short of that. Had to go ask and the waiter got a little snippy but it is what it is. The foods good so would recommend.

We’ve been here a few times now. The food and drinks are usually really good. Sometimes it takes awhile for food to come out but reasonable when the restaurant is busy. However tonight we waited 40+ minutes for food and watched other tables who sat after us finish meals while we waited. Salad was missing items. Just overall not impressive quality tonight. Not sure if it was just an off night but disappointing.

Clerk at the hotel we stayed at recommended The Vault. We split the prime rib sandwich and the giant pretzel. Both were delicious. The location is a very unique building and our server was great. Excellent choice when in Dubuque!

Came in with a large group. Our server took AMAZING care of us. The jalapeno poppers were amazing! Enjoyed the steak and drinks. Atmosphere was excellent

Had the steak was really good for the money $25. They have a live show for happy hour. 8.7/10

Nice place in Downtown Dubuque. Clean and friendly staff. We went over lunch so wasn't busy.
