Department Store Theisen's reviews
19Bought a bike motor seized manager went out of his way to help us out and get it replaced love these guys.
Great store to look around. They have almost anything. I always leave with more than I came for.
Great store. Staff is very helpful. Had the spring I needed to fix my snowblower
Thanks Theisen's
I have been to this Theisen's many times but most recently I had a really good experience. I had been searching all around town for a specific pair of Keens (sandals) on a Sunday. After checking multiple stores I thought I was out of luck but the Keens website said Theisen's carried the ones I was looking for. There was a really nice woman working in the shoe department that directed me exactly to where the shoes were located. Not only did Theisen's have the size and color I wanted, they were also almost 30 dollars cheaper than retail price. Overall a very good experience.
Shopped here looking for some work boots. They had a wide selection but every pair I was interested in was out of stock in my size (11.5). The prices here seem a bit high compared to Bomgaars and similar places. The store was well kept and they have a wide selection of items
For older generations.this store still give you that feeling when you are looking materials for around the house. Ranch project.
Great selection of clothes, ahoes/boots, tools, toys and equipment. Even though Menards just opened down the street they don't carry a lot of things Theisens does. Plus Theisens has free popcorn!
Needed dog food it was 1 min before close and had no issues getting what I needed. Wish price was a bit more consistent. Bounce between here and an online site for pet needs.
A fairly small store but loaded with the variety of goods youd expect. Adequate supply for pets, garden, auto, sports clothing, etc.
Theisens has EVERY item a farmer/landowner could ever need under one roof. The staff is cheerful, friendly and knowledgable. We purchased items to repair the rot in a pole barn wall and they had every item on our list. Boards, concrete bags, leg bolt anchors and lumber metal corner pieces. Even hydraulic oil for the tractor of course. It is like the Walmart of farm supply.
The midwest is riddled with farm stores and they tend to be pretty similar-in a good way. Theisen's in Ames is everything you'd expect it to be. Tool selection and pet supplies are pretty great and the free popcorn makes me happy.
We broke down with a trailer because the springs in the trailer broke and destroyed the tires. We were moving from WI, to AZ and know nothing of the area. The tire department can go to hell they knew I was not from the area and still dallied, I had 3 Lyft drives cancel ride becaus it was taking too long and I ended up having an emotional pregnancy meltdown. The manager was very sweet and understanding, she got the tire asap for me and apologized excessively for the way I had been treated.
Theisens always has the best items. We especially like the bird feed. Feeders
are plentiful and interesting. Always a good experience.
Thursday afternoon 3: 30pm one checker and seven customers in line waiting. Don't go if your in a hurry. Shopping cart was filthy
Plenty of shopping to be done here from shoes to tools and cloths. We just bought a kayak from them. Friendly service and the took it to my truck for me. This is where I go Everytime to buy my work boots.
Check out their dog supplies also while you are there. Very nice selection and you can find some really good deals on good dog beds.
Cashier at customer service was completely rude and when asked questions knew none of the answers to simple questions that should be known. (About rebates).
They never have what I need, I always stop to find myself disappointed. I end up ordering from suppliers or going to fleet and farm.
I lost the tread of one my trailer tires while on my way to Missouri. I got to Theisen's in Ames Iowa at 6: 45 on a Sunday evening. Kenny from the tire shop made sure I was taken care of before I left the parking lot, even though the store was trying to close. Thank you Kenny. I would also like to thank the MOD as well. I do not recall his name.
