If I could give no stars, I would. I moved here in February, and had to clean the apartment as I moved in. There was dirt, spider webs, and stains everywhere as well as pain splatter all over the floors, walls, and mismatched paint on the walls. There is clear water damage on the trim in my apartment as it is peeling away, yet I have no idea where the water came from. The material isn't even wood, it's worse than a Formica type particle board that just chips away. These are very cheaply made apartments. I have yet to have all of the tiles fixed in the apartment that were cracked upon move-in. The windows do not open or close properly. During the cold months, I had wind blowing in creating higher than normal utility bills. My garbage disposer has acted up several times, my bathroom fan was broken and making noise. The closet is ridiculously cheap and has wooden dowels in it that came crashing down on my head when I was hanging stuff up that wasn't even heavy. I had to have them come in and clean the apartment under the fridge because there was mold and dirt under it when I moved in that I refused to try and clean on my own. When they moved the new fridge in, they put it in backwards and my son-in -law had to switch the doors around so I could use it on move in. I've asked several times about many, many other items that need fixed or replaced and am always told that it's a supply issue, or that they don't know where the work order got placed but they would get another one going. The property maintenance here is absolutely awful, as well as the staff. The admin fees, as well as the other "fees" you are charged will nickle and dime you to death. It's absolutely ridiculous, and I cannot wait until my lease is up so I can get out of this god forsaken place. What I thought would be around $1050 per month quickly raised to almost $1200.00 per month with all of their miscellaneous admin fees, etc. In talking to others now, I have found that they are having the same issues with maintenance issues, and what they're being charged. And, don't get me started on the amount of times the pool has been closed, or is so incredibly dirty you don't want to swim in it. The last time I was out there, it had so much scum on the water I had to get the net and get it off myself before I went in. I refuse to do it again. I am supposed to pay my rent on time, yet they get to repairs, etc on their own time. I could go on and on, and have waited this long to write a review in hopes things would get better. It's been 7 months, and not one of those months has it been anything but problems. I just want to come home and sit in my apartment without worrying about what's broken, or how it looks. I don't even want to invite anyone over because I would be embarrassed to have them see the apartment the way it is. When walking around the property, there are weeds everywhere, and are very high. The contractors that do the mowing don't worry about cleaning up after themselves. There is always grass everywhere, tire marks on the concrete because most of the time the grass is too wet when they do mow. Random trees growing where they shouldn't be. The faux windows in the tops of the buildings are breaking, and the interior black paper that once was attached is no longer there and all you see are 2x4 pieces, it looks tacky and gross. They get upset if you have a boat parked and not in a garage, however there are 2 motorcycles that have been parked there since I moved in with their license plates that expired SEVERAL years ago. Yet, when I asked about these getting moved I was basically brushed off.

I have been leaving in this place for around 8 months and I just waiting to the end of my agreement to move away. I have never been in a place where the customer service is so inefficient; moreover, they overcharge for every thing even if you prove that you are right. They only thing they know to do is give headache.

I have lived here at Turtle Creek for two years. I have had great experience with the Leasing personnel. I have visited other apartment complexes in WDM to find that I had the best communication with my concerns at Turtle Creek. I spoke with a human each time and got my concerns cleared in moments each time. I am mostly impressed with the maintenance team who have responded in a reasonable time to repair damages or replace an appliance.

I currently live here and am extremely disappointed. I wanted to have a pool day for memorial day and expected the pool to be open naturally because all apartment pools are open memorial day or before hand. Our pool is still closed and I hate that i’m paying ammenties for it. I tried to contact someone but this is my last option because no one answered. Really disappointed and would not reccomend living here.

The pool has been closed for two weekends now after memorial day so I took a star off. Really disappointed and haven’t seen anyone out there working on the pool. It makes me wonder if it’s going to be like this all summer.

The place is over price. You are only paying for living in West Des Moines. They very rarely plow or shovel the sidewalk or even have a proper path to the door of the building. They charge you for everything at outrageous prices. They have valet trash that is supposed to come almost every day, I had trash sit out for 5 days straight with no pick up like what’s the point I pay 20 bucks a month for them to come pick it up and then I end up have to take it out because they don’t show up. The pipes make loud noises when the person up stairs is running water from anywhere in their apartment. The wall is crumbling in the bathroom due to I believe was previous water damage that they did a bad job at repairing. The windows are so bad that you can feel the weather coming in. There is absolutely no curb appeal and the patio is absolutely filthy and looks like it has never been cleaned.
