Union on Lincoln Way, Ames IA

My son used to live in these apartments. We called and were told there were two units available. We filled out application immediately and paid a $250 application fee and then were told there were no units available and that we were not getting our $250 deposit back. Poor customer service after basically being told the unit was ours and what a ridiculous application fee. Applicants beware! Update-they contacted me back and our refunding the money.

STAY AWAY. Union on Lincoln Way owned by GreyStar incorrectly sent me to collections for a unit I never lived in.

I absolutely loved this place. I'm dying to go back actually because I live in a much worse option this year. They have cute events with various free things for the residents. Their reward system lets you win gift cards which is nice. Common areas are always clean. They also have a short term lease, which is great for student teachers and those graduating in dec! A little bit of a walk to campus but its worth the rest of the perks. Planning on coming back next year

Just moved our son in which was a smooth process. It's so nice, he won't want to come back home. Close to food and walking distance to campus. This is better than the dorms,

This is not a place that values its renters safety and security. My sister (18), her best friend (19) and I (20 male) leased an apartment and less than a week before move in were notified that another man (27) was going to be moving in with us. I as well as all of our parents expressed that we were not comfortable with a 27 year old man living with us especially without a background check on him or ourselves. We contacted Union on Lincoln Way multiple times before this unknown party moved in and they did not respond until he had already moved in and they said that it was too late now that he had moved in. I am extremely uncomfortable with this living situation and do not feel comfortable leaving my 18 year old sister alone at the apartment with these circumstances and have made Union on Lincoln Way aware of this and they refuse to find a middle ground on this situation.

My brother lives at the Union apartment and likes the location to campus and close to shopping.

Their location is perfect -right across from campus and Welch St! The environment is so friendly and fun, it immediately felt like home! My favorite parts are the pool deck and the coffee machine.

My son has lived here for 2 years. When we have come to visit it’s a nice place. He likes the proximity to the college.

Gabe is my favorite CA! He always is willing to help and communicate my concerns! Absolutely love living here, people say it’s far from things but transportation is easily accessible and everything you need is within walking distance!

Great location/close to campus, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Love the atmosphere but wish there was more parking for people who visit. Overall, good place to live!

I have lived at Union for 3 years now because I just haven’t been able to find anything that compares. Between the great location (walking distance to restaurant, bars, and campus) to the community this establishment has created, Union truly has become my home away from home:)

The community assistant Carter Junge is very helpful. Great rooms, and great tenant service!
