Every single time you call billing you get sent through this transfer to a different department rabbit hole. More painful than any trauma that caused your visit to UnityPoint in the first place. Better yet, you leave a voicemail. They call you back, you explain your situation all over again and then you get placed on hold only to be sent to another voicemail box. Run by complete morons. I hate everything about this health system.

Labor and delivery nurses allowed unwanted visitors when the door was posted no visitors. My wife was allowed to be assaulted because of their neglect.

Good luck to anyone really dealing with a illness or a loved one who is dealing with illness or serious health conditions this organization is pretty much run by boomer Facist' and the experience some of the NR or related ranks although sometimes have long work experience doesn't exactly mean they have good experience working in their fields, every unity point oriented organization has been horrible to me and ill never step foot in one of the extremely old buildings. This one in particular is extremely old, everything outside of this hospital is old and inside too. Good luck to anyone who's suffering from a serious condition.

Horrible staffing in the Emergency room. Nurses are very disrespectful and show no compassion for the patients at all. ONLY good thing out of this hospital is the children’s side of it other than that I would not waste your time.

My mom was in hospital
For 5 days. I walked in several days and my elderly mom was uncovered and curled up in ball at end of bed. I’m a nurse and assisted her myself back up straight. I also did all adls and oral cares as she didn’t receive that while here. I have my Mom a shower, no railing to hold onto getting in and out of shower, shower sprayed out of end piece that was broken and all over bathroom and me. The shower chair leg was rusty and fell apart while my Mom was sitting on it during shower. Traveling nurse took care of my Mom for most of the time and didn’t see her much during shift. I had to ask for new iv bag as hers was beeping for at least 20 minutes. Dirty linens laid on her room floor most of morning u til I picked them up. The techs were nice but came in and left and I had to asked for linens to asssit her with shower and making her bed. Decent care by staff when you do see them but I don’t feel it’s the best. Food was not good and bland which we know can’t be seasoned much.

They are very slow and probably understaffed like everyone else. I do have concerns that privacy is violated because they come out to the ER waiting room and take vitals in front of everyone. They say the vitals in front of everybody and several times I saw it prompt conversations about conditions people have. Several people wondered if this was legal.

Came into the Emergency Clinic today and waited about an hour and a half before I was taken back just to get vitals and blood drawn. This was the part that saved some stars in the reviews. The nurse who took me back to get my info and vitals, Nick, was great. Super polite and friendly.
After that I was passed of to another tech, Gus, to get my blood drawn. He was super young but was a complete professional and made me feel very comfortable. He was very friendly and personable with great bed-side manner.
Unfortunately after this I had to go back out to the lobby and continue waiting. After another 2 hours or so, my pain was so intolerable that I couldn't take the waiting around any more as there was no idea of when I might actually get back to see a doctor, that I decided to leave so I checked myself out at the desk and went to Luthern where I got in within 5 minutes.

This don't make no sense. They have a 5- 7 hour what to see a Dr. This is the worse.

When a medical error kills your family member, dont blame the working hospital staff.

Blame the administration for giving the RNs (the 1 person who's sole job it is to look out for you) 10+ patients.

The administration doesnt feel the hospital makes enough money. The CEO only makes $1,000,000/ year. Poor guy's starving.

In early 2015, I had two surgeries and a 2-week recovery stay. The professional staff (nurses, doctors, doctors-in-training, the physical therapists, etc) was fantastic. I will always remember their dedication. However, the student nurses were, almost all, badly prepared to manage my situation. One of them was dangerous in her lack of attention and I had to inform the actual nurses of her behaviour.
In 2021, I had a surgery and a 10-day recovery period. This period was during a surge of cases related to the pandemic. Again, all the professional staff was fantastic. The nurses are the glue of hospitals.

We just adopted our baby girl, and were fortunate enough to be at UnityPoint for the delivery. We stayed a couple of nights with them as well. My wife and I were completely blown away by the amount of incredibly kind and helpful nurses, doctors, and staff. Throughout this process we worked with a lot of people, and every.single.one of them was kind and happy and helpful. As adoptive parents they made us feel so at ease and welcomed, and they took amazing care of our daughter's birth mother. They treated us all with respect and were so, so supportive of and excited about our adoption story. They turned what could have been an agonizing experience into an incredibly easy and even fun time. We would especially like to thank Lisa and Rachel, our delivery nurses, Dr. M. Hanson who delivered our baby, our night nurse Hannah, and our day nurse Ashley. We will remember you all and our experience there forever. Thank you.

Our Mom was in the Critical Care Unit just recently. We were very impressed with all of the care and professionalism she received from the Drs to the Nurses and all of the extensive care teams. So very blessed with the care that she received through her discharge. We cannot thank you all enough for your genuine concern!

I am a fan of the Unity Point facility and the medical staff but their billing department is deplorable. Unity point, please find another third-party vendor to address your billing needs because whoever your facility is currently partnered with is disgraceful.

Absolutely disgraceful. My 72 year old mother has been waiting in the ER lobby for 7 hours!
