Uptown Bar & Grill, Grimes IA

Thought we would give this place a try. Called to place an order to go over the phone. Asked the Lady who answered if it was too late to order;
she said the kitchen was open until 10pm and asked if I could hold a minute. Lady put me on hold & never came back. After 10 minutes the call dropped. Tried calling back for another 10 min but couldn't get through.assuming the lady left the phone off the hook when she put me on hold and never came back. Don't know if she forgot about me or if it was intentional but regardless, I won't be bothering them again. I suggest if you're too busy and don't have time to take a to go order, just tell the caller that up front.

This restaurant outperforms all expectations. They just produce some great home cooked meals.

Waste of time money and energy! First. Ignored upon arrival.
Not even an acknowledgement of our presence.watched others get good service.almost left a few times but they managed to get to us right at that last minute.we wanted to give them a chance. Food. Well we should've just driven out to DeSoto to go to Ambrose. The food and service is so much better there. We won't make that mistake again.

My daughter and I went after her soccer game and got there right when they opened on Saturday. The food was great. She had the fried shrimp and I had a cheese quesadilla. Our server, Sam was very nice and even recommended a place for us to get our nails done because we had time to kill before we drove to our next hotel in Cedar Rapids.
We liked the fact they had board games too for their customers to play. We played a game of Sorry before we left, which sadly I did not win.

Great food selection and prices are affordable. Local good eating! We will certainly be back again and again!

Great local stop. Burgers are large and filling, but a bit on the done side for me. The service was great. Menu is kept simple and small. Everything is ala cart. Get here early, it fills up fast! We sat at 5pm on Saturday, and by the time we finished dining and settled the bill, the place was near full.

I dont usually order chicken sandwiches because places don't trim the fat. But the chicken sandwich was delicious here! And my husband had the burger which he said was really good!

Been here a number of times. Food been great in past but fell a bit short this time. Burger supposed to be medium rare was medium well and pork tenderloin a little over done. Service not quite up to previous visits. Maybe just a bad day for them. Hope they can be more consistent.

First time stopping-Amazing food.we had the cattleman’s burger & uptown burger. Friendly & attentive service. We will definitely be back!

Good place with a pretty good variety of beer and a full food menu. The building is by far not a strip mall bar but could use some more comfortable seating like booths. Busy enough while I was there that I saw people come and go because of lack of seating.
