Van Diest Medical Center, Webster City IA

Went in for an annual physical and had a great experience. A month later my bill came, which insurance should have been covered as preventative care. Called my insurance and they said it was because it had been billed as a health exam and not preventative care. Called Van Diest to see what the deal was and basically got told that because I was a new patient and talked about some basic health concerns (both the kind of things you would discuss at a physical) they could not code it as a physical and seemed pretty unwilling to help. I have been a new patient at 2 other clinics due to job transfers in the last few years and talked about the same basic medical concerns with no billing issues. On top of that the basic exam was billed at $269, which is insane compared to my past providers. Now, even with the help of insurance an exam that should have cost less than $25 is costing me well over $200. If they had just billed what I asked for or given me a warning when I was scheduling that it may not be covered the way I expected, this would have been a five star experience. As a result, my family and I will be looking elsewhere for future care.

This place is BEYOND shady! First off realize their own staff/family/friends is writing in these reviews. ALL of upper management in this place needs a full investigation which we plan on doing. We are working with IBME, Iowa Nursing board, Lawyers and investigative journalist on this place. There is so much messed up stuff going on here being swept under the rug at this place I can't even begin to cover the small stuff in this review let alone anything heinous. All i know is they should absolutely spit on you and hand out lipstick before you enter this place.believe the fake reviews if you wish, you were warned.

Had to take my daughter to the hospital last night and Mark Minton was the ER Doctor. He was so good! He was very good at educating us on the digestive system and why she was vomiting. He really listened to us and gave her the right medication to help her feel better. Usually doctors don't explain the digestive system or use language you can understand, but this doctor was awesome! If we ever have to go to the ER again, I hope he is the doctor on-call.

My mother was well taken care of during her last days. Since I live in another state, I would call daily to check on her. The staff never rushed giving an update, allowed for any questions that I had. When I arrived at the hospital before her death, everyone was very compassionate. The hospital has very nice rooms too. 5 stars.

This medical center is shady shady shady. I'd suggest going somewhere else!
