Veridian Credit Union reviews
13Huge thanks to Rique for giving invaluable advice to our 19yo daughter on how to handle credit cards and increase her credit score.
The manager Michelle at the ankeny location was COMPLETELY unprofessional and rude.would not take time to give all information needed. Veridian is a great bank i would not use this location EVER!
Best checking app I have ever used. More thorough for problems such as stolen cards than other banks. If you need something that isn't regular, go to the main branch. However, it is super nice to have the small on site branch inside HyVee grocery for extended hours. Plus they're open on Saturday. Extended bankers hours.
They charge you fees and don’t tell you your account if overdrawn they say wit Veridian. You won’t be able to overdraw your account but then charge you a 32.00 dollar fee of an over draw of 0.80 cents
Great service in person, as soon as you try to contact them over the phone you get no answer. I’ve called multiple different branches trying to talk to someone, yet no one answers. Terrible customer service!
They act like they helping you but they lie they hide fee you didn't know about. Don't bank with them you been warn
I get charged overdraft fees WITHOUT notification or any grace period to move money from one account to another to avoid fees. I have two checking accounts and therefore two debit cards and must have accidentally used the debit card number that I had no money on at the time. So they charge me for insufficient funds WITHOUT notice. I contacted customer service and they say Veridian gets charged for these mistaken transactions. That's a LIE. I've researched and banks DO NOT get charged any penalties just because customers accidentally overdraft on their accounts. Veridian is only trying to make money. They say "As a not-for-profit financial cooperative". So here they LYING and charging me overdraft fees just so they can make money. I hope they go broke and there customers have to switch their money somewhere else. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
Absolutely the poorest customer service i have ever encountered and that bar is set really low for banks in general. Was sent from the west des moines branch clear to ankeny to simply open a couple cds. I got there only to be sent away as I should have scheduled an appointment. I had literally called 10 minutes earlier and they didn't mention that appointments were needed. Disappointing
Great rates. But they are becoming more of a bank than a credit union. Poor customer service and now you are just a number
I have been a member here for many years, love their quick services. Loans, checking and savings.
I work at a bank in Altoona but I bank with Veridian in Ankeny. They have been far busier than our bank has been during this pandemic. Just wanted to say thank you for all of your hard work. Tellers, bankers, officers, etc. Your staff is AMAZING! I hope things slow down for you all soon.
I will never do my banking with anyone else. Veridian is hands down the best. I recently opened an auto loan and was pre approved with Veridian but after some confusion at the dealership on their end, Veridian worked tirelessly for me to make sure I had an easy lending experience. Customer service is top notch! Thanks Veridian!
I can't personally vouch for this location, as I have only been in, twice. However, Veridian Credit Union as a whole is hands down the best banking experience I have had from personal banking to small loans. They just work and they work hard. They have great customer service in and outside of the locations.
Additionally, they are always working to improve user web and mobile experience. The new updates to the web UI are much more user friendly and the mobile app is everything I've needed in a banking app. All of this from a Credit Union that doesn't try to screw you over every second.
Like any bank, Veridian needs customers to stay in business and they know that. However, they also care about the people they have and I have nothing but complete and total fairness on their part. Even my loans have been great. The transparency from Veridian is great. If I get charged a fee, I know why.
I took a brief hiatus from Veridian when I moved out of network. I used a larger national bank chain and it was the worst experience I have ever had. The national bank chain was structured as a greedy money making machine and they were ruthless. I had to continually watch my account to avoid getting hit with endless meaningless fees and changes. If there was ever a time to say I was nickeled and dimed, it was with them. Every opportunity was made to take your money. It's a sad story when the thieves you have watch out for already own the bank.
As soon as possible, I went back to Veridian and it's the best decision I could have made! Using a bank that isn't structured to slowly bleed customers dry is refreshing. 5 star bank for sure.
