5 We waited to see doctor Waggoner for an hour and then saw him for 10 minutes at the most!
Yes, the doctor was apologetic but that is an absolutely ridiculous wait time! We all have things to do and we are all busy. The staff should have clearly communicated to us that they were running behind schedule and that we would have to wait. We could have been given the opportunity to make the choice for ourselves based on clear communication from the office. This is not the first time this has happened and this is why it is so upsetting.
We love love love Dr. Waggnor. He has been an amazing pediatrician to our children. However more often we see the PA. Andrea and we have been very disappointed in the care she has provided us. The last straw caused us to leave the practice all together and switch to Dr. Holland at the Iowa clinic. Our one year old daughter had a serious buckle fracture and she advised us to do nothing, and allow the leg to heal on it's own. This didn't seem right to us so we went for a second opinion. Dr. Holland sent us stright to Blank Park to get the leg splinted and see a specialist within a few hours. The pediatric orthopedist said that leaving the leg could have caused serious permanent damage to the leg. And that the leg needed to be splinted ASAP. We are forever greatful for Dr. Holland and her team. A day after we got the cast on, we got a call from the PA saying maybe we should see a specialist. So disappointed in the care we received. We spoke to quite a few neighbors who go to the same office who have experience similar disappointments and issues with the same pa. So we decided to leave a review though it is difficult as Dr. Waggnor has been so good to us. And his nursing staff is fantastic.
We are very blessed to have Dr Waggoner as our daughters pediatrician!
We love Waggoner Pediatrics! Dr. Waggoner, Andrea Dettmann-Spurgeon and all their staff always go above and beyond to take great care of our little one. They truly care about how she is doing when she is sick, even checking in on her to see how she is doing which they don’t have to do. They’re the best!
