Wildcat Den State Park reviews
17It was a nice little area. Hard to find with the map due to not enough signs to find an entrance or parking. Found the mill and walked from there. More signs and a map of the area would have helped.
Really nice park area with varied terrain. You can make a 4 mile or shorter hike with enough hills to get you breathing heavily. Some of the views on the trail would definitely be better with leaf off seasons
This park was pretty nice. The hiking trails were very maintained. It was a beautiful hike.
Was around 9 am walked the trails they are nice and wide easy to walk with others
So quiet that tine of the day.
I really liked it here. It’s kinda small but that’s not a bad thing! Really cool sights to be seen.
Grist mill is fascinating. Schoolhouse is quaint. Unable to tour the stone church. Nye family cemetery of great historical importance to the area.
Nice family place to go to.they got a few trails, some neat cave like areas, along with play areas that seem to vary clean with vary little trash. People seem friendly and have some nice views too looked like they got panic areas for large get together. I also heard they may have camping in the area not sure if it's free or not
Not many benches for resting. Nice tourist museum in an old mill. Trails are hard to find and not well groomed.
It was amazing! The running grist mill was also super neat! I can't wait to go back and see the beautiful colors in the Fall
Small misunderstanding with a ranger and she was extremely rude and unprofessional and lied about the time we set up camp. Absolutely ridiculous experience
Wild Cat Den is a favorite place with my kids and grandkids. The mill, bridge, and waterfall are so much fun and relaxing. Hiking and the beautiful fall drive are exceptional!
Great Iowa state park. We hiked for about five miles on a cloudy Sunday. The mill is neat and has clean modern restrooms. Trails are typically for Iowa but offer a few hills.
Walked a few trails, seen the caves and got rid of some energy. Ages 1 to 40 and we all made it through and left happy and tired
Wild cat den is so amazing, here at this park you can actually see how the old mill was ran its still works and there is all the old working part inside, what a piece of history.
Always a beautiful spot to go for a solo hike or to take the dogs on a walk! Wildcat Den is a true gem!
Well marked and maintained trails. Some trails were fun and challenging, while others were a nice walk through woodlands. I highly recommend this park for hiking!
