What an impressive bar! Drink menu was outstanding. Mixology is a hobby and now I'm on the search for a metal olive stuffer!

A friend brought me to Winchester a few weeks ago for the first time. Classic, old fashioned whiskey bar (with a bit of everything.) The atmosphere is phenomenal, the staff are amazing, kind, and quick to help, and the old fashioned I've now had twice, is the best I've had. If you want a smooth drink to sip with friends (or alone, no judgement here), Winchesters is the place to go.

Nice decor and clever variety of drinks but with too many hard surfaces it makes what should be a nice mellow bar excruciatingly LOUD.

Love the Winchester. Been here several times in the last year since we moved to the area. They have TRUE mixologists and a drink list to die for. The beer list is impeccable. They made the part of the bar that holds all the booze bottles. Have them tell you about it. We will return again and again.

Had the “Dude Abides” drink and a beer. Watched the bartender, nice to see someone who takes pride in their craft. Excellent place.

Best bar in the metro. Heck I'd argue best in the midwest. Great staff and an owner who does it the right way. Amazing cocktails, great beer selection. Legit probably the best looking bar in the state of Iowa.

Easily the best bar in WDM! David is our favorite, but seriously, everyone is amazing and wonderful. I can’t wait for the restaurant portion to open!

Didn't have any food there only went for drinks but such great service and the bar tenders had a lot of knowledge of the liquor selections

Winchester public house was recommended to us for a great place to get a drink. Excellent selection of bourbon and other liquors.

Edited my first review. First time we enjoyed the cocktails and place but nothing blew us away then. Second time we literally spent hours here - the bartender led us on a cocktail journey! And a great sazerac which is super rare. Fantastic! And every time since then has been fantastic. Some of the best cocktails and people in the city!

Great place to stop for a well-made cocktail. It does get busy on the weekend nights but the vibe is always fun!

Great selection of spirits! Great atmosphere for sipping a delicious craft cocktail. Order your dirty martini on a scale of 1-5 for dirtiness. Number 3 perfect for me! Good quality blue cheese and olives. Clean thoughtful women’s bathroom.

Went with a group out for my birthday. One of my friends is just under 21, walking in we noticed that it said “no minors” on the door. Assuming that it meant under the age of 18 as is standard for that phrase, we thought he would be ok as he had no intention of trying to order alcohol. After some members of our party had ordered drinks and received them, we were carded and he clearly stated he had no intention of ordering alcohol and was just there with the group. He was very rudely ordered to leave, quoting the server “get out”. Disappointed in the service throughout the night as well. We asked for the check and he did not return with it in a timely manner, after deciding to pay with cash we left. Then quickly following us exiting we were accused of not paying by our server who did not check the table. Will not be returning.

Non-drinking member of party was kicked out due to being under 21. Policy inconsistent with signage on doors which reads no minors which is a defined as person under age 18 in the state of Iowa. Unprofessional response from staff. Direct quote "get out". Great drinks don't make up for poor overall service.
