Zio Johno's - Iowa City reviews
15 1st time there, smell is AMAZING as soon as you walk in. Split a meat pizza with a friend. Can't compare it to anyplace in the QCs but it was outstanding!
Will definitely be back.
Best lasagna you can find in the area, and very affordable! Staff could be more friendly but the food makes up for it.
We went there last night for some supper. I had to work so it was my mom, sister and 4 cousins. They said that the service was slow and had to wait a long time to even order. When I came after work I decided to try my moms alfredo, it was disgusting. It takes bitter and just plain gross. When we were discussing my sister and cousin also said that their sauce was gross and it tasted bad. Now it’s the morning after and they are all sick.vomiting and diarrhea, we all think it’s food poisoning from the gross meals yesterday
.
We entered about 30 minutes before closing. We did wait several minutes to be waited on due to staffing issue. Server was courteous and friendly. Good variety on menu. Clean, but dated environment. While the lasagna was lukewarm, other food was hot. Overall, not the worst choice for a meal and very affordable.
Got one of their special offers to go. Spaghetti, Ravioli, sub sandwich, and garlic bread. They even gave us some cheese bread. Everything was delicious and fed 5 of us with plenty of leftovers. We love this place.
Fast and friendly service. Excellent Italian fast food. Love the garlic cheese bread. Large portions make it easy to split a salad and pasta dish for 2. Family sizes are great for a group.
Thank you for hanging on and giving another generation a chance to get a taste (in atmosphere and food) of the traditional Italian American Ristorante. It was a real pleasure to visit with you.
Got their meatball sub. It was huge! Couldn't eat it all. Also: restaurant was clean and employee's were friendly.
We carryout here often. For quick pasta, it's really tasty. It's a nice meal during the week. I call ahead and swing through. It's a good system.
Food had no taste and I was told that my order came to $41.50 and I also left a $5.00 cash tip. So when I ran my card I put no tip. When I looked at my bill they added there our tip and took $51.50.then when I called to find out why I was basically told nothing they can do about it. They said that the bank holds 20% till the transition goes through but when it went through it still took the extra money and they will not give it back.
Took my daughter to get some lunch around 1pm and had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The lady at the register was very nice and helpful, she even gave my daughter a free cookie. The food was brought out to our table promptly, thank God. A 3 yr old with idle hands can cause a parent to have an early death just by running the possibities of what the next tantrum will be about and where. The spaghetti, garlic bread and salad tasted great and the portions were generous. Well, we arrived to a clean facility with organized and stocked tables, but when we left, the place was in need of attention. I cleaned up the best I could with what was available to me. This place deserves more customers on a regular basis. I will return.
We ordered 5 items and almost all of them had the same tomato sauce to get the gravy. Took 30 minutes for the order. The beef ravioli was horrible. The staff on the counter was not trained at all. The ambience was too dull and sick. Will never return.
I have family that live nearby and we eat here at least once a month if not more. Always delicious always affordable always dependable. Whether you order just pasta or any one of their options you cannot beat the quality, freshness and reliability of this restaurant. They even feature Pepsi products. Plenty of parking. Fast friendly service. Love their Garlic bread. Salads, kids menu, desserts. I cannot say enough good things about this place. In my opinion this place is worth checking out.
It was ok I loved the gondola I got but a friend got some fettuccine Alfredo pasta and had me try it and it wasn't good. It tasted like pasta with water
