Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort, Wells ME

I actually was visiting my sister Sharon O'Brien, she was staying there for the weekend as she surprised me on my 60th and we have a home on Riverside Dr. In Wells! We absolutelyove our home but it only has 3 bedrooms so we were in search of a nice place to have quest to come and stay when our house was full and BOY have we found it! We love your establishment and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone! PET FRIENDLY ALSO! BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!

This is our favorite place for a getaway. I love relaxing in the waterfall hot tub and swimming in the pool in the off season. My only wish would be adult swim times a bit earlier in the night. Other than that, we've never had a bad experience.

Aways love staying here, only had one problem, they were renovating the room above me and it was annoying to hear and pounding at 9: 15 in the morning, also it seems like they need some new mattresses but other than that everything's 100% great.

A very pleasant and relaxing stay. Their Ledgeview property is always our choice due to its pool, hot tub, clean rooms and ocean views. We stay 3 times a year and we are never disappointed.

We've been coming to this fabulous place since the 1950s when the Forbes ran the property. So many trips, so many happy memories spanning generations of our family. When we travel to Maine, the Lafayette is our premier destination. The views and beach are spectacular. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable of area events. We love it!

We vacation here every year and will continue to do so. Rooms are always very clean and maintained, the employees are very friendly and accommodating, the view is absolutely amazing especially at sunrise. Lafayette's Ocean Resort is a short drive to anything we could want or need and that is including the best restaurants in the area.

This was a small Vrbo that we rented. It was small but it had everything you needed. Pull out couches for the kids to sleep on, everything you need to cook with and easy to get to parking and access to Wells. We are just a short walk up the street to the Ocean and beach and there is lots of stuff to see and do very close. Of course there is Billys Seafood right up the road which is AMAZING! Pricey but worth it! We were completely satisfied with everything. Only gripe is we couldn't get the heat to work but the owner was in the ER and he was still responding to our texts to try to help us out. Given all that we were very happy with our accomodations.

Loved our stay, right on the beach. Nice rooms with all we needed. Loved the patio chaises overlooking the beach and sunrises were very special.

Lafayette saved our first family vacation! We have been coming to Wells annually, but hadn't a few years after having our kids/pandemic. We previously stayed at the motel in the same area that starts with a B and has a sea captain statue. That place told us with less than 24 before us leaving home our room was not usable they had nothing to offer (even for a future stay) and that we were basically s.o. L. The amazing people at Lafayette managed to get us a comparable room for the same days in less than 24 hours before check in and were so compassionate when they heard what happened. Our room ended up being better here. We intend on being annual customers now! Thank you. Also the whole family loved the pool and the adults the hot tub- kids started swimming without being held for the first time in this pool. It's got magic water or something.

Nasty place. Pipes are molding, we tried to clean the mold off the shower heads; barely came off and it stunk. Carpet is stained and desperately needs to be ripped up. The ceiling is dinky and falling apart. That type of flimsy dry wall shouldn’t be in a shower- yet it was and it was ALSO molding. Sink was falling apart. Floor wasn’t even vacuumed; sand everywhere. Wifi is terrible here. Good luck even trying.

To make matters worse, we had a naked man come and try to get into our room. When we called maintenance, shaken, all they did was walk around once. And then told us that their cameras didn’t work? None of them didn’t work? Fishy.

Overall there are certainly good parts, but this place needs to seriously change if it wants to keep its guests.

The minute I walk in my room, I know I will have a very special time at Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort. Everything just perfect, the room, clean sheets, furniture and Balcony. I highly recommend the Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort to anyone wanting to experience right on the beach and coast of Maine. The services were 110% Friendly, professional, helpful and away jumped through hops to make sure our stay are relax and perfect. Definitely will go back and hopefully very soon. We had a great time and Thank you for having us!

Room was clean and staff was helpful, the kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub but man does it get crowded. Things left to be desired, especially at their price:
-better wifi in the oxcart, was practically non existent, and it's necessary when all they provide you with is basic tv
-the food at Forbes (their restaurant) left much to be desired, got Breakfast there twice and everything tastes reheated, but not long enough, because everything was cold. Coffee was excellent though.
-very old fashioned and no online booking. The fact that you have to send in a check to hold your reservation is pretty archaic.
- pretty awesome they have rollaway beds in the room at no extra charge, but they seriously need an upgrade
- we also had someone come speak to us about "being too loud", but all we were doing were chatting as adults on the deck outside. Pretty cratchety neighbors at 10 pm.

Lovely place but there is one particular staff member (I will not write her full name but it begins with an N) who could learn to be much less rude over the phone. If your job is to deal with people all day, it can get frustrating; this I know from experience. That does not mean you don't at least try to sound pleasant when you know people are coming to you for help and advice rather than making them feel like they're wasting your time.

Service people are nice at front desk, rooms are pleasant decor, no mold smell, but stuffy if air isn't on. Everything is bleached but it doesn't get the mold out. Huge concern is for the mold hidden in pillows that shows up in the morning on the pillow cases. Housekeeping indifferent when brought to their attention.

It's the Only game in town most of the hotel's owned by the same family for close up ocean views. But it's currently Not worth the price if you leave with respiratory issues and congestion. It use to be better.

Great hotel for just spending a night or a hotel to stay at while on vacation. I wasn't on vacation, but. I did have a great stay at this hotel for sure. I like how close the beach is, very convenient.
