We contracted Greater Boston Roofing to change out our roof and install skylights in our home. They arrived and started work exactly on time (around 730 AM) and day they said they would come. The had to extend the install time by a little less than a day only because of rain. When it started raining unexpectedly, they were so prepared: they pulled out tarp and left for the day 1 after the job was done, they cleaned out around the house of any left over nails mutliple times! I had borrowed a nail detector from a friend but didnt have to use it as they were so thorough. MIke Weiss was our project manager and he was phenomenal to work with! Great experience working with Greater Boston Roofing (and so lucky to have Mike Weiss assigned to us)!

GBR not only called me back, but they came to check out the roof when they said they would, walked me through the process thoroughly, gave a great quote, and scheduled the roof replacement quickly, The team was on time and worked so hard for 2 days. Hi. I had my roof replaced on Oct 6,2023 ahead of new solar panels and I was very impressed by the crew that came to do the install. The crew were very professional, polite and friendly. They looked out for each other and wore all the proper PPE and fall protection needed for a roofing job. I could here the constant communication between the crew members. Everyone knew where everyone else was at all times. The crew Foreman Peter Vincent was exceptional and very professional. I could see him actively coordinating the crew and he didn't miss a thing. We recently had GBR replace shingles on our entire house and two-car garage. Can’t be happier with how it turned out. Service was exceptional and we were thoroughly impressed with their efficiency and craftsmanship.

Initial Assessment and Estimation - I initially found GBR through Google and reached out based on the great reviews. They did not disappoint – contacted me very promptly and scheduled an assessment by Michael Weiss within a week. I had two other contractors came in for the assessment before then, but Michael was noticeably more knowledgeable and more thorough. He analyzed the work needed and explained to me the reasons behind with great patience, then took a number a photos before providing a very comprehensive estimate. GBR also seems to use a professional software for roofing, so the estimate listed all necessary details, plus insurance information and certification information. The efficiency and clarity of the estimate immediately installed confidence in their expertise, and GBR’s price was quite competitive, so we decided to go with them instead of the other contractors. Contract was signed electronically (again with professional software) within couple days – the turnaround time was impressive. Michael returned all my text/calls promptly so things moved forward very quickly!

Scheduling and material delivery - scheduling then took some time as getting permits in the city of Boston delayed the overall process, but Lisa Zonfrillo was super helpful in fitting us in asap. I also contacted her multiple times via text and always received responses promptly. Everything we requested through her was done as expected. No extra calls no extra talking! Once the date was set, everything fell seamlessly into place. The materials arrived promptly on a Friday for a Monday job, the dumpster got here early Monday morning, and the crew lead by Justin Flaherty arrived bright and early as well.

Crew - We had seven very skilled workers on the first day for the shingles and three on the second for the flat rubber roof of the sunroom. They wasted no time at all. On the first day by lunch the entire layer (and at some places multiple layers) of shingles were taken off and wheelbarrowed into the dumpster. Despite my initial concern about rain, they completed the job swiftly before it rained without comprising on the quality of the work. They protected all our trees/bushes/flowers close to the house throughout. The crew was also well-equipped with safety gear head to toe, and Justin the on-site manager/supervisor put up tapes around the yard so I didn’t need to worry about anyone getting hurt on my property.

On-site Management – We were very glad to have Justin for the project. He was attentive and communicated frequently with the crew. He had keen eyes for issues and explained to me with great detail the deficiencies he noted for additional work. These were formally communicated to us through GBF’s professional software platform accompanied by exact costs, which made reviewing and accepting these updates very straightforward. Justin personally went out multiple times to multiple shops to get the additional material in the exact color we needed. He worked with the crew very closely to ensure the deficiencies were addressed properly.

Cleanup – the cleanup was impeccable! They swiped for nails with magnets, raked the lawn of broken shingles, and swept up all the asphalt dust. They left our property literally spotless! Even our neighbors were impressed with how clean the surroundings were after such significant roofing work was done.

Overall, we highly recommend GBR for roofing services! We are very satisfied with their work and would not hesitate to hire them again in the future.

The crew that came up to install the roof before solar was put in was incredible. They were very professional. The keep thing clean. If issues came up they communicated it effectively. I was very happy with the end product.

They worked until it was already dark (Late December, so they could finish it that day. I was impressed!

Friendly staff and very reasonable priced, Crew showed up on time and were very professional, explained the process and went right to work. The crew did good quality work installing the roofing materials and cleaning up around the house at job completion. I would recommend them to anyone in need of roof replacement.

Great job at a good price. Crew took all safety precautions which is good to see on a roof with a 30 foot drop.

Terrible company, they installed the roof and left a leak and it is causing a lot of damage, I have contacted them in various ways and they do not respond to me to solve the situation, without even sending a technician to evaluate the cause. Completely disappointed in the customer service they have and the quality and guarantee of the work they do, I contacted them from May 2023, and until today August 28 no response from them.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Staff was excellent. I’m not a roofer but it sure was quick and looks nice. We had some lifting of shingles on backside of roof between skylight windows. They did come back and replaced or repaired the lifted shingles!
