28 Event Space (The Kansas City Room and The Station)

My new wife and I simply can not say enough amazing things about Mackenzie, Taylor and the entire staff at 28 Event Space. We had a big wedding (near 250) and they made it so easy and stress free for us. They were flexible, honest and just gave off the best energy throughout the entire process. From the day we toured to the moment we left the day after the wedding, they were great to us. And the space is absolutely perfect for every phase of the wedding experience. We'd absolutely love it, and would recommend them for whatever your needs are. Great people, great place, great experience!

I toured 6 venues and could not find a better event space in the KC metro than 28 Event Space. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and extremely easy to work with. I think I asked them hundreds of questions leading up to our big day, to which they were immediately responsive, attentive, and extremely helpful. The bartenders included in our package were awesome and went above and beyond as they were willing to make all of our old fashioned's for our signature drink for our pup ("Otis Fashioned")! The Station was everything we had wished and hoped for - I would recommend to any couple looking for a place for their dream wedding!:)

This was the absolute BEST RECEPTION SITE we could have ever imagined! It worked for every member of our family! The staff was awesome, especially the three bartenders we had, and the back rooms and bedrooms were perfect for elderly family members to relax in during the reception and for the wedding party to prep in before and after the ceremony. It was just the most perfect venue for us! We loved it!

I got to be witness to my best friend getting hitched in this gorgeous event space. This was most definitely the BEST WEDDING I have ever been to. Hands down! It was probably the blending of these beautiful eclectic families that made it so, but the space was perfect to host such a brilliant array of beauty and love. I am so glad I got to spend so much time in here and it doubles as an Airbnb space which was absolutely amazing for the after party and the preparations for before the ceremony! Highly recommend this to any Kansas City brides to be!

I think 28 Event Space is the best value venue in downtown KC. I did extensive research on venues in downtown KC for my wedding, and no one could compete with 28 Event Space’s price for everything that is included. A few of the main selling points for me were that our rental included a DJ, party bus, bride/groom getting ready suite, overnight access, use of your own vendors, and the ability to bring your own alcohol. They are the only venue in downtown KC (to my knowledge) to offer all of this, and at an incredibly fair price.

In addition to all of this, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. We went with The Station which has an elegant marble backdrop as the centerpiece of the room. Everything is so updated and modern, which is exactly what we were looking for in a venue. The managers Mackenzie and Taylor are also incredibly responsive which is a must for wedding planning. They gave me a number to text with any questions and they almost always responded within ours. We mainly worked with Taylor, and she was so flexible with all of our requests. I can’t recommend 28 Event Space enough.

I work a LOT with this venue and I can't say one negative attribute the venue or ownership has. From the first inquiry call, couples are treated like family.

As a wedding planner, I can't express how important it is to work with a venue that understands the industry and wants the best for their couples. When you can trust your venue to execute your day effortlessly, you've found the right venue for you!

Not to mention, this also makes it very easy for wedding vendors to work here because of the hospitality all of their employees show.

I attended my cousin's wedding. We had buffet, Mexican food. Open bar and a DJ. Lot's of fun with family and friends.

We had the most amazing wedding day at 28 Event Space - the venue is beautiful and accommodated a broad range of guest counts as ours fluctuated, had super nice space for both sides of the wedding party to get ready, pretty options out front and on the street for photos and lots of space to for our drinks since it's BYOB. The venue managers are nothing short of the best - they were incredibly responsive, provided solutions when we had questions or concerns and made us feel like everything was completely taken care of at our final walk-through. If we got married again, we would be back at the Kansas City room without hesitation:)

The staff here is so wonderful and I always got a response back from them so quick. There is so much included in the booking of this venue which makes it so worth the price. Both the station and Kansas City rooms are beautiful and I will be highly recommending anyone who is getting married to this venue in the future.

I hosted a corporate event here raising money for a local children's hospital and I was blown away with how attentive and helpful Mackenzie, Taylor, and the entire 28 Event staff were throughout our entire experience. I have attended events here prior to my event and I can say from experience that this space and its staff go above and beyond other event spaces here in the greater Kansas City area.

My daughter was just married at 28th Event Space. We were told many things that did not come true. Parking was a nightmare. Even though they said they would have attendants, helping guests to park they did not. They said they had two big private lots for parking they did not. One of the bridal party had her car broken into.
So much for private and any help. We paid extra for a wedding planner named Alexis Niebert. We were suppose to meet with her before the wedding but she was a no show on all the planning. We had beautiful fresh flower arrangements on all the tables. Alexis the wedding planner took it upon herself, did not ask Mother or Bride, to buy dollar store fake flowers to add to the flower arrangements. When I told her to take the fake flowers out she did not.
Alexis was suppose to pick up pulled pork at 3pm to serve to the quests for a 10pm snack. I got a call from the owners at 3: 30pm they were still waiting for Alexis. The owners close at 3pm. Alexis was very rude and difficult to work with. She forgot the bridal bouquets and champagne glasses on the bridal table. Wine was suppose to be poured when people came back to their table to eat. That did not happen. Water glasses were suppose to be at each table with water in them. That did not happen. Alexis told the servers just to put water in the wine glasses. Unexceptionable. After the wedding ceremony, the room was supposed to have a minor flip to push tables closer together and create a dance floor in front of the Bridal table and stage, however this was not completed and made the event look very odd. With the prior flower arrangement issue, my daughter and myself were very unhappy with the "look" of the head table for her special day. The back drop was not opened up for grand entrance of the wedding party. Another mistake by the 28th Event Space individuals and Alexis. After the cake cutting the cake was to be cut and served. That did not happen. The event space chairs around the table were not clean. All in all I would stay away from this event space and the wedding planner. We did sit down with two other coordinators from the event space they wrote everything down with approximate time-line so I thought we were in sync. I guess the wedding planner had her own plan. For the monies you pay the event was terrible and the miscommunication between the vendors, wedding party and wedding planner was atrocious.

We had my daughters 3rd birthday party in the Station. It was a perfect space for our little extravagant birthday party for our girls.
Large enough for our giant inflatable prince castle. Simple enough for our decorations to pop!

Event staff were amazing!
Helped set up all the tables where we needed them, provided the table cloths, did the major cleaning, and was there the weeks ahead when I called dang near every day to ask questions.

10000% recommend.

The staff were professional, personable, with amazing work ethic, and outstanding customer service.
The space speaks for itself. Gorgeous venue, but the staff make it just that much better.
