9 Mile Garden reviews
19There was only one food truck there the day we decided to check it out. It's much smaller than expected.
There are food trucks so it is hard to rate food as the trucks change. Overall our experience was good.
I absolutely love the variety of food trucks that come out here, and their Facebook page that keeps me updated! I get to pick and choose for my weekend treat sort of girl dinner
The venue was nice. Location isn't too bad if you're South Side Certified. Food service obviously depends on which trucks are available. But apparently it needs to be explained that food trucks aren't fast food and that there will be lines. Especially if the weather is nice. Don't be a Karen because your little Billy has to wait 10 minutes for mac and cheese. Good food takes a while and its your poor planning that he's whining about being hungry. I digress. Service at the Canteen was fast and efficient and we enjoyed ourselves. Parking was a bit of a pain. I hope they can work through that.
This place is so overrated. Always a ton of screaming kids with absentee parents. The food trucks are underwhelming.
9 mile garden is a nice venue. Love the canteen to get alcohol, outdoor turf is nice to bring your pets too, big screen to watch movies on. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff.
If the Taste-D Burger truck is there, be sure to check them out to. They have AMAZING Smash burgers. 10/10.
Cool place to hangout, meetup with friends, listen to music, and enjoy food & drinks. The only downside is the lines & wait at the food trucks can get long.
I made it large group of scooter riders to go on a ride the food was good had a couple cold beers
So, this is an odd place - do your own research and decide if it's worth the trip.
The food is from food trucks only, and is obviously outside. The trucks are a bit of a walk from the building. So, if it's raining, you will need an umbrella.
A review from this summer claims you need to reserve a spot to play trivia. We played a lot last summer - it was always very busy, with large teams. They like to play outside, so you will sweat in the summer.
They have a large selection of beer - anyone who says otherwise is a "beer snob". They have board games inside on shelves if you feel like playing a game. There is an upstairs with a foosball table.
They aren't always open. Sometimes, I will drive by and see they are closed and can think of no reason why. This year, they were closed from New Years Eve to April. They didn't announce their re-open on IG, so I had no way of knowing (it's 2023, and most people have quit using facebook - just sayin').
On busy nights, parking is awful. People drive the lot for 20 minutes. People park across Gravois and try to walk across 5 lanes of traffic. I have parked at AutoZone, at a car loan office, at a rival bar. Sadly, it's not worth dealing with the crowds on days/evenings when trivia and Cardinal games overlap. If the Cardinals are in town, just go to the game - it will be easier to find parking at the stadium.
Overall, it's a cool place. It requires a little research. Do your homework.
Great neighborhood friendly place. Everyone welcome here. Food trucks, lots of beer on tap, friendly staff. Plenty of room for everyone to hang out. Bring your comfy lawn chair!
The venue itself is nice, but the food trucks are always the worst. Of the half dozen times I've gone, I don't think I've ever had good food. Was especially disappointing the last time, not sure I'll go back.
Always a decent variety as long as the sun is out. Dog friendly. Big outdoor TV for sports and usually some live music once a week. Good place to unwind in the fresh air.
Great space to host a party! The Canteen is fun and spacious. Great beer selection and very helpful staff. Will be back to enjoy the bands and food trucks.
It's not stated anywhere that dogs aren't allowed in the canteen. There are no signs on the doors, and it's not stated on the website. Knowing this ahead of time would've allowed me to make accommodations for my dog.
More food truck options would be great. The only two trucks that were there couldn't keep up the demand.
The music was great I was there with a group of friends and we all had a great time. It was cool to see all the other groups of people enjoying the moment with their friends and family.
I like how they have fun games that help keep the kids occupied while their family has a good time.
Different different trucks for lunch and dinner, usually at least five or six or more. Love the variety.
It's neat, and a nice place to hang, but they need more/diverse food options. The food trucks are usually pretty similar, and since there are so few the lines can stack up quickly.
I marked service as 3 stars because to me access/ convenience/parking are part of that and yeah.none of them are great. Also very few places to lock up a bike and or scooter.
I've been wanting to come here since learning about it from a coworker and got out here after a mountain bike ride and overall my experience was good but, knocked a star off due to the price.
I got here too late and the last food truck, Kalifornia Cuisine, was about to drive off but hooked me up with some tacos anyways. I met the truck's owner and she was really cool. The chicken tacos there were really good! They were, expensive but I'd say they were worth it. Better than most restaurants I've been to. BTW, it was around 9pm when the trucks rolled out and I got hooked up last second.
There was a band playing and the band played until about 10 I'd say. It was a full band too. They were doing mostly classic rock covers and sounded good. They were pretty far (picture taken from one of the closest benches) from where all the benches are but I guess that's so you can set up lawn chairs closer to the band if you want. They had the cardinals game on a enormous screen.this place is probably great for big games!
I'm pretty boujee when it comes to my beer so I went inside and got a craft beer. They have a pretty awesome list of beers from kinda all over. Narrow Gauge, Maplewood, Deschutes, Urban Chestnut.mostly local but some from out of the area. I got a 16 ounce beer and a 24 oz beer and spent $24 w/tip! That's kinda insane (yet for some reason, I was cool with it). Beer prices everywhere have gotten crazy but they were a few dollars more crazy. I'm willing to say that it's worth it for the environment and vibe.just I need to get here earlier to make it worth while.
Note: they have a drink stand near the food trucks serving canned beer and other drinks, so that might be the way to go here.
