Alley Spring & Mill reviews
19This place is beautiful! The park offers a tour of the Alley Springs mill, old school house, and Alley Spring. None of the buildings are open however and can only be viewed from outside. The park also offers a short hiking trail, picnic tables, and access to the river. Everything is free and handicap accessible. Highly recommend visiting if in the area!
Beautiful location and lots of fascinating museum for those that like history. There's also a hiking trail that's not very long, but gets you moving after riding around in the car awhile.
If you've never been to Alley Mill, you really should stop and soak in the historic and natural beauty of this gem. Located a few miles west of Eminence MO, the 100 year old mill sits adjacent to Alley Spring which pumps out an average of 81 million gallons of clear blue water every day.
Go in the autumn! On October 18,2022, the colors aren’t quite peaking yet, but they are close! And it is GORGEOUS! Take a picnic!
Amazingly beautiful scenery with some neat history to boot. To top it off, the rangers who work the part were all friendly and engaging.
Check out the old school house before making your way to the mill to see the machinery while hearing about how it was used, then take a stroll around either (or both) of the trails to take in some amazing vistas.
We love going to the Alley Spring and the mill. There are several trails to walk, lots of photo opportunities, and seeing the historic mill is really interesting. If you have never been, I highly recommend a visit.
Lived down river on my grandfather old place 1,5miles from Tom Akers home, visit him and his family on a regular week of school days bus stop, walked the distance home.
Breathe taking, the mill is very interesting, there's a walking trail around the spring, the mill is handicap accessible, plenty of parking, picnic areas and river access, playground for children, pavilions to rent for large groups, beautiful place to send a entire day.
Very nice scenery and the spring and mill is attractive. The park ranger are respectful and helpful. If in this part of the country it's well worth a visit
Absolutely beautiful! Stunning. Rim trail was a good 0.3 mile round trip from the mill to the parking lot. The mill was a neat stop. The spring itself is gorgeous. Clear blue green tinted water. 57° temp and just perfect! Definitely recommend going here!
Alley Spring and Mill is just about one of the most scenic places. It is exactly what you want when you think about a picturesque old mill.
The Alley Mill was a walk back in time. It's a self guided tour through the Mill and old school house. A ranger is on site to answer all questions. It has an adorable little gift shop. Very much worth going to.
SO beautiful! Such a huge spring and the entire area is just so bright green, even the water! The Mill was impressive, although the inside was closed when we went. Only one family there when we went, it was so peaceful!
It's gotten a lot better. Seems more scientific research is being done. Old civilization before the mill was there. Saying back 10000 years. So pretty cool. Will have to keep coming back to learn more.
Really cool historical site with trails and trail medallions. Unfortunately on Memorial Day weekend, it was extremely crowded. The mill itself is a gift shop (with the hiking medallions among other good)
Beautiful place to take the family to. Just keep an eye on children near the spring. The water moves quick. But very nice to walk around and hike. Bathrooms on site and several picnic tables. Large pavilion for groups to sit under. Free parking.
This is a beautiful spot, with plentiful parking, picnic tables, and clean flush toilets. The star attraction is the beautiful mill and spring. Part of the circular trail around the spring was closed during our visit, and there were some muddy spots on the trail, but well worth the visit!
This beautiful mill is a must see if you're visiting the Ozark Scenic Riverways National Park or just nearby. Great place to hike also easy trails around the mill and a Scenic overlook for those who are up for a challenge, it's 1.5 miles to the top. Plan on spending some quality time and taking it all in this is a must see.
