American Inn Sedalia Hotel

Room 118 king bed, jacuzzi bathtub. Room very small, and clean, floor was uneven.
Manager turned on wall heater to 86 highest it would go.we went out to eat BBQ it was ok. Back to Room a little warmer. Could use a new mattress kind of saggy, but slept well enough. About midnight could feel some warmth. Jacuzzi bath and 2 watermelon shots very relaxing.

I have been staying in this hotel for about two weeks now staff is very friendly and rooms are in great shape I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family

This is the worst hotel ever you can't see the TVs the heaters don't work in the rooms and the managers are really rude and not nice people at all we didn't even walk at the room and ask for a refund and they would not even give it to us whatsoever

1) When I called and asked how much a room was, they said $60, but I when I got there to check in, they charged me $113 - said 40 of it was for a deposit, after I told the lady I had just called.

2) The heat was set to 74 and we couldn't adjust it at all or turn on the fan.

3) I woke up very itchy. Got dressed and left and later found multiple welts (20+) all over my body that look exactly like bed bug bites. Absolutely disgusting.

Still haven't received my "deposit" back either.
Would not recommend staying here.

If you are a young woman or young couple do not stay here.

It did not feel like a completely safe environment to us. The room had flies and was very musty. The bedding had stains and I felt uncomfortable with the other clients staying at the motel. All groups of men in the parking lot drinking and playing music till late. When we pulled in got a lot of stares that made me feel uncomfortable. If we had taken a child with us I would not have stayed at all. Also smoke alarm was going off all night. No other families other than the owners. Did not feel safe leaving the room at night. Lots of beer bottles left in the parking area in the morning. Just one simple lock on the door leading outside. We did not feel comfortable coming back the second night so we just packed up and left in the morning. Didn’t mind losing out on the $60. If you feel hesitant at all it is worth your money to stay somewhere you feel safe and comfortable.

This is an older motel not far from the Missouri State Fair grounds. Room was clean and comfortable, and the price was right. Great location, good parking. Plenty of hot water and a comfortable bed.

I stayed here last night and it smelled stanky not to mention I asked for a non-smoking room and it still smell like cigarette smoke pulled back to sheet covers and they had bed bugs I work for the fair I had plans on staying here for over a week Aug 7- 2022

The Bed Was Very Uncomfortable Got Up My Neck and Bacl Were In Exscruciating Pain The Bed Moved The Bed Was Like Jello Moved Constantly Sleeping In It They Need To Put a Bar In Bathroom I Almost Slipped and Fell In Their It Was The Only Place To Stay in Sedalia For State Fair Everywhere Else Was Sold Out

Staff is very friendly and will work with you to make your experience better than any other hotel Ive been to

Loved the experience Roxy my service dog even enjoyed the bed and the made was very helpful n did her job well not. A complaint one she gets a 11 out of 10 she was so kind sweet careing and resourceful great job to American inn on improving the hotel I appooed you

Very friendly service. Weekly rates were great! Rooms and property were very clean and well kept!

I came here about two months ago before the closing happened rooms were nasty and the clerk didnt want to give $15 deposit back and threatened to call the police as if she didnt rob us

If you’re looking for a non smoking room that smells like cigarettes and butthole… this is the place for you! If you want sheets covered in your grandmas lady juices, we have got you covered! This place has everything to make your stay extra special. I’m talking bugs, rude management, bodily fluids, anything that will make you think… “ Maybe I should just sleep in my car. ” And remember, no refunds even if you don’t stay.

City of Sedalia just shut this business down, residents are ordered to vacate by November 29th 2021.

Don't book a room, doubt you will get your money back.

The rooms were gross I have pictures of how bandly stained the sheets are and there are black musty stains all over the mattresses and the vent in the bathroom was rusty and moldy.when asked for a refund the manager yelled at us and told us we were making things up.also when checking for bed bugs she threw me out.wouldn't stay here unless u had no where else

Room smells of smoke.
Beds uncomfortable.
Very thin walls.
Hard to communicate with stuff.
Very outdated.
Not many plug-ins for use.
On the plus side you can tell the cleaning stuff has done the best they can with what they have to work with. Probably the cheapest place in town to stay.
