Anthony's, Kansas City MO

Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the food. Service and atmosphere were good, but the food was just okay. I had veal parmesan which came with a side of shells and sauce. The veal seemed to be a pre-formed slice instead of a cutlet. The sauce had so little seasoning that it was like plain tomato sauce. I had higher expectations.

It was very cold in there. It was not busy, but it took a long time for someone to greet and seat us. Then afterwards, the bartender started greeting and seating people who came in after us very quickly. Waitress didn't get our drink order correct and brought what we didn't ask for twice.finally got it right, but she was nice.

Good atmosphere and great service. Chicken Parm was good, tomato sauce in both the pasta and lasagna was too sweet for me

Had been wanting to try Anthony's. Not my preference. Was looking for a different flavor I guess. I love Garosso's and this is my preferred spot. I tried it. Won't go back.

Had lasagna which didn't have meat in it. Had to order either meat sauce or a sausages link on the side. Of course when you put it together, it was better. Tasted the shrimp fettuccine.missing some flavor. Was not fond of the sugar sauce. It was sweet. I like a more spicy/seasoned sauce.

Best part was the whiskey and the seasoned oil for bread was good.

They have a good stream of customers so they can't be that bad, just not the flavor I was looking for. I wouldn't suggest it. I'd suggest Garosso's but I wouldn't tell anyone not to go. I do like my food spicy and well seasoned. Didn't get that here. May work for others, just not me.

Service was good and the food was hot and didn't take long to come out. Really seems like a cool place to chill and eat.

I wish i remembered the servers name. There was roughly 10 of us and he did a great job! Food was great!

The atmosphere was definitely original, and the furniture felt like it had not been wiped off since the original days. It was sticky. The tables were cheap bar tables. The bread is store boughten cheap French bread. There were no dipping sauces- either oils with seasonings or marinara sauce. Not original French bread that is made in the house like a authentic Italian restaurants. The marinara sauce that was on my lasagna and my husband’s chicken Parmesan was not homemade. I would’ve been happier with a jar of Ragu at this point. The lasagna was all noodles and sauce. There was no mozzarella cheese anywhere on top or in between noodles at all. I didn’t see any ricotta either. My husband’s chicken Parmesan was good but he did not like the marinara sauce. The bright spot was the tiramisu, and that was not homemade in house. It was boughten. The prices were for real authentic Italian food, which you do not get at this restaurant.this was our first time at Anthony’s and it will be our last. Do not waste your money on this restaurant. I was excited about eating Italian food and left dissatisfied.

Total dining experience! Romantic plus amazing food the whole staff treats you like royalty! No pun for you sensitive trenders.

So I'm in town for Worlds of Fun with the family and since I'm from Omaha in a neighborhood called Lil Italy, naturally I wanted some pasta. Not only was the food superb but the hospitality was fantastic. Much respect. Grazie!

Amazing food and great atmosphere, Kelli did an amazing job helping me decide what to choose to eat for my first time here. I will definitely be back my next trip to Kansas City. Don't believe the Karen/Kevin reviews. This place is amazing.

Good food and good service. The decor is dated and nothing fancy, but it's well-maintained which provides character and charm. The atmosphere loses 1 star because the floor was sticky in a few spots. Totally understand that happens on occasion, but it's not appealing when you encounter sticky floors on the way to your table. Overall, a very enjoyable experience though!

We stopped at Anthony’s about an hour before the kitchen closed on a weeknight, and the staff was extremely friendly in accommodating our party of 6. Drinks were great, food was delicious, and prices were reasonable. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

A very lovely dinner joint, cozy atmosphere, dark lighting but not too dark, great food and staff!

Finally was able to pop into the famous, iconic, historic Anthony's on Grand. It did not disappoint! Kelly, our server, had exceptional customer service and very knowledgeable of the menu.

The Linguine w/ Sugo was so savory!

Our had the Jazz, but to salty. My husband and I ate the eggplant parmesan and added broccoli instead of pasta. Eggplant was great! Broccoli was too salty. My mother in law ate the cod special and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Not a lot of space for large parties. Intimate setting. Expensive for what you get.

We’ve eaten here twice now and they don’t disappoint! The meatballs are amazing, the sausage is super tasty, the fried calamari is made fresh and is very delightful dipped in the sauce that comes with the stuffed artichoke! The stuffed artichoke is great and reminds me of my nana’s! Definitely eat here! The staff is very friendly and made dinner a super fun experience!
