Applewood Apartments, Kansas City MO

Friendly, looking for a short lease for traveling. Will update when I move out. But thus far it's a 5 star. Stay tuned.

Lots of parking, good maintenance staff and owners are constantly modernizing the property.

Very slow to answer any requests for things in apartment that needed fixed - to the point once admitting they didn't fix something that could have harmed my 3yr old daughter. I was then very open with them that I needed time to pay a fee off that they had added to my monthly bill. The conversation got to the point that I decided it wasn't even worth living there any more, so gave a 30 day notice to which they claimed I needed a 60 day notice. Just nothing about this place was pleasant besides my neighbors. Avoid this place like the plague.

Where do I even start? If I could give negative Stars I would. All they care about is your money. For the 12 months my partner and I stayed there. The pool never opened. Hallways were dirty disgusting and trifling. They never clean the windows that are on the outside of the building. So there was cobwebs everywhere. Do not look at the pictures on any website. Actually drive there and check out the place in person. They always have a lame excuse when you complain about something. Last but not least steer clear from this property. I would hate for you to spend your money and you're not satisfied

We've currently been at the complex for two years now. Our experience while staying at Applewood has been pleasant. Obviously things have changed since the pandemic and the management staff has done a tremendous job at adjusting and adapting to the situation they have done a phenomenal job staying on top of everything as best as they can.

The pandemic has made it a tad bit more difficult to get into contact with the front office physically. However the front office has been very prompt in communicating virtually and getting service request handle in a timely manner.

Even as the pandemic has affected individuals here financially the leasing staff especially Dawn has been such a blessing and wonderful help. She's more than a property manager that seeks to take care and assist the residents by providing helpful information and resources to get caught up and get the assistance needed.

In my two years before the pandemic struct and even during it has been a pleasurable experience. I recommend Applewood to anyone looking to potentially call it home. This has been a wonderful experience and if you get the chance to work with Dawn she is an absolutely wonderful and truly makes you feel comfortable in your decision making process.
