Wow! Physical therapy here was such a great experience. The team and environment is incredible. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else, EVER. Thank you to Clare for bringing me back to 100% with your treatment plan, being a listening ear, and always challenging me to be my very best each session. I will never forget this experience. If you are seeking physical therapy in midtown Kansas City, look no further than Athletico-Westport! I had the immense pleasure of working with Dr. Clare Wasmuth to address pain and functional limitations due to my chronic condition. Her knowledge, expertise, and bedside manner instantly put me at ease. Clare's confidence and compassion renewed my hope in what I could achieve in physical therapy.

She actively listened to my concerns and honored my needs each visit. With the ebbs and flows of my chronic condition, Clare adjusted my treatment plan based on my pain and energy levels. Even on my bad days, she was able to work on my body and give me safe, modified exercises to keep me moving.

Clare is also certified in dry needling. I benefited greatly from the dry needling treatments we added into my care plan.

I left every session feeling better, both physically and emotionally. Thanks to Clare's expert guidance and constant encouragement, I crushed my first round of PT goals! I look forward to working with her again in the near future.

I would also like to recognize the entire Athletico-Westport team. The wrong clinic vibe can ruin the best patient experience. From the front office to the PT aides, what a fantastic group of professionals! It's obvious they enjoy working alongside one another. The clinic maintains a fun, laid-back atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and appreciated. I loved interacting with their diverse staff and colorful patient population!

Claire and Aaron have been very professional and kind. They both have helped me with the recovery of my back injury from a car accident. They have taught me new exercises that strengthen my core and back muscles tremendously. Would recommend their services!

I went to Athletico in Westport after having a TKR and was assigned Dr. Aaron Dugan as my PT. The facility was always clean, organized and the atmosphere there was very friendly. Other patients there seemed happy as well.

Dr Aaron was just the best. He was always professional, upbeat, compassionate and motivated me to do my best. I only went 1x a week for financial reasons. Dr Aaron came up with a program for me to do at home on the other days and always asked how my week went.

The weeks I was in a lot of pain, he understood, massaged and got me through our sessions. The few times I wasn’t in good spirits, he encouraged me and when my session was over I felt 100% better. Dr Aaron’s attitude was always positive. He’s clearly competent, confident and knowledgeable in his trade.

Once my PT was over Dr Aaron developed a program for me to continue gaining full strength in my knee. He made sure I knew I could reach out to him in the future if I needed to.
I’m so fortunate to have had Dr Aaron as my PT. He kept me motivated. He helped with my gait and to walk the stairs right over left. He helped me with my balance and just made me hopeful that I’d fully recover.

I highly recommend Athletico and especially Dr Aaron. Dr Aaron truly cares about his patients and is committed to our healing.

I had an incredible experience here after my abdominal surgery! Banaka (and her sub, Kate) were amazing. I had pelvic floor and abdominal therapy. I feel so much stronger, and I’ve gotten back to all my normal activities. 10/10 recommend!

Both Greg and Aaron have been incredible in helping on my road to recovery. 5 broken bones in an almost 60 year old body hasn’t made it easy, but they’ve always come through with innovate ways to get me past each hurdle.
The entire staff knows me by name and they are welcoming and encouraging. The facility is well maintained.

Can’t recommend Athletico enough for pain management and physical therapy. Every single human who works there genuinely cares for their patients. The progress I’ve seen for myself recovering from a dislocated kneecap was more than I could’ve imagined and happened swiftly. Very thankful to Aaron (and those who subbed while he was out of town) for continuously challenging me and helping me overcome such a devastating injury.

I had Greg for my recovery and he was so funny and nice! I highly recommend coming here the AIDS are the sweetest and everyone overall is friendly and polite. The place is very clean, the Aids stay on top of making sure everything is clean, everyone is helped, and that everything is put up correctly. Very flexible with my schedule and understanding. 12 out of 10!

I was in a wreck but Greg got me feeling like a brand new man, so thankful for him. Claire & Hannah assisted in my treatment as well, they are awesome.

Came here after knee surgery and worked with Clare and Aaron who did an excellent job. They both answered all my questions and gave exercises tailored to my needs. Would definitely recommend and come back for care!

I suffered a concussion and was TERRIFIED to find that my ability to focus my eyes was completely gone as well as my ability to keep myself balanced. I felt extremely overwhelmed and depressed that it was not resolving by itself. I had always taken clear vision for granted. My neurologist recommended I start seeing Banaka for vestibular therapy. At that point, I was skeptical that there would be any improvement. However, on the very first visit, Banaka repeatedly reassured me with a thorough, easy-to-understand explanation of my injury. Her education, experience and expertise were immediately evident. I left that first appointment comforted and more hopeful than I had felt since the accident. My hopes were not misplaced! Throughout my treatment I had very hard patches, but Banaka patiently kept me motivated and was always ready to reinforce my treatment by pointing out my progress. During the course of my treatment, it was my pleasure to work with all of the staff, not just Banaka. It was truly the highlight of my day. Kim at the front desk is amazing and handled all my scheduling, insurance and doctor interaction in a proactive way so I never had to worry about any issues issues and could focus on just my healing. Kim is on it! The aides that are there to assist were well-trained to help during the exercises, but the bonus was that they all had an encouraging, enthusiastic and empathetic way of assisting. And yes I enjoy alliteration:) I was in often and eventually came to know them all. I was treated like family-not just as a project to help with a dollar sign attached to me. I noticed that all the patients were treated this way. That really set this place above the status of adequate and put them into the category of EXTRAORDINARY. If you are looking for treatment, Athletico is the only place to go!
