I returned a vehicle I rented from then and get additional 100 charge on the vehicle
This is not told to you when you rent from them it.
The price it shows for being late on the original invoice does not show you all the charges.
They are a rip off Do
not Do business here.
I will be more than happy to post both the original invoice I signed an the final bill

The employees at avis helped make my rental experience great. I have always had problems renting a car. They made it a quick and painless process

Always has cars to rent but make sure to take pics of every surface of the car when you pick and take it back. They claimed we caused damage to the under carriage and we know we didn’t hit anything. But with out the pics we couldn’t fight it.

They need to detail the rental description better thru Expedia and detail more what kinda bank cards they will and won't take for payment

Rude says they can't rent out due to license damage. Guy had attitude stated you won't rent at any rental for avis etc. Instead of handing me my license he put it on counter. I see a lot of negative reviews probably from this guy.

If you are in need of a rental car, this AVIS location is the last place I would pick up from. The staff is extremely rude, and disrespectful. Out of hundreds of reservations I have never had a rental experience as unprofessional as this one.

Rented a vehicle 4 separate days. Was charged mileage on 1 of the 4 that where all driven the same distance. There was no mention of mileage limits when I made the reservations at this location. The building has a sign that states the real unlimited mileage. I spent over $1000 for 4 days and they wouldn't work with me at all. The contract that I signed had abbreviations for the mileage limits. Very deceptive way to do business. I felt like 2 of the rentals that where over $400 for one day rental would be enough. The manager was smug, full of attitude, and did not care. I watched her interactions with other customers that had problems and I have to admit she is consistent.

After this review and challenging the charge with my credit card company I have been refunded. I will change my review from 1 to 3 stars. I appreciate Avis reaching out to solve the problem at a corporate level. Its sad the store did not and I had to fight and spend time to have this solved.

The car should have never been allowed to remain in service. Beside having trash in the car, it was obvious the car was not cleaned. The tires were dangerous with wires showing, bald tread, out of balance. Death Trap! Whoever inspects/cleans the cars at the Sunshine location in Springfield needs to be fired immediately for putting peoples lives at risk. Also, Avis should allow photos to be uploaded in these reviews to back up my story.

They are trying to charge me. 25 a mile for anything over 150 a day. The rental had mechanical issues had to stay extra 2 days so was out hotel expenses an then check the vehicle in to find out some bs of mileage. Avis has ALWAYS been known for unlimited mileage for 1 and for 2 they didn't say anything and had note hidden behind counter and 3 I had to try an track down another rental of which never got one because there wasn't one available unless I wanted to finally wait an extra 7hrs at an airport after waiting 2days for 1 an I would miss my return rental time so I would be charged more again. I've rented numerous times an have never experienced this type of issue but this last time was HORRIBLE to say the least.

This is probably the best Avis in the country. The staff are helpful and friendly. If you need a flashy rental, this is your stop. From Wranglers to Harleys, they have great options.

Very quick and helpful customer service on both pick up and return. Manager allowed us to return vehicle to airport from different location so we did not need a taxi to the airport. We really appreciated that.

Greedy LIARS!
I rented a car June of 2020 during the awful pandemic. It’s the end of the rental that really leaves a never again result that is now being looked at by Consumer Affairs.
Let’s just say the customer service was typical. No real effort to impress satisfaction. I had called to reserve a mid size SUV after a doctors appointment revealed a crisis for my 12 yr old. We had just spent 2 weeks fighting for her life. My car was having AC issues and I needed her as comfortable as possible.
I get to location and NO SUV after asking many times do they have SUV at that location. They didn’t have 1 SUV on the lot. I had hoped they was getting gas and that’s why I didn’t see any. Nope!
So I ended up getting a van which was nice. The girl at the desk must have been listening to the many multitasking calls! She had told me she added an option where I could have the rental picked up since I would be in hospital going no where for at least a week. Curbside pickup or she said I could take the car to the closest Avis & they could give me a ride back.
The following day, I called the Avis closest. This location informed me that due to the virus they didn’t have the staff to do this. I said, well it was part of the rental so I wouldn’t be left paying a daily rental for a car that is just sitting. I called the next Avis close and this one said that they too didn’t have the staff. So I called the main Avis customer service and explained everything. The rep said they would put a note on my rental and to call when I would be discharged so they could credit for days not driven. So I called a couple days later. They looked at something and could see the car hadn’t moved. So credit was issued.
I get back to Spfld on a Sun. I made sure to take video & pics of everything.
One week later - I get a letter from a collection agency trying to collect the amount Avis credited! It was Bobs Avis trying to go behind Avis and collect for the days that customer service credited me due to their inability to complete the added curbside pickup.
I have written letters to Avis and proven beyond a shadow of doubt I still paid more than the 2 days I rented. $200 is a lot for a 2 day car rental to drive to KC and back. He is trying to get the $115 still! They didn’t charge my card? Why? Because they knew I could dispute it and prove as well as other regulations. So after months of waiting on Avis, I called and was told it’s resolved.
Now in March of 2021, I get another letter from a different agency trying to collect this amount again. Now Avis has supposedly changed the notes and they first said it was for gas not refilled! Nope / have receipt, video and pics. Now they say it was returned late! Nope, not according to calls made and verified. If late, the original bill would have included that. See, Bob is mad that Avis who he franchises under processed the correct amount and he is scamming to find other ways to get that money! At first I was just gonna let it all be but now that it’s happening again, I am going to do every single thing under the sun to shine a light on this.
Don’t rent from here! Their business practice is very criminal minded.

Pathetic service. We had planned a nice trip, but these guys especially the super rude lady who works here on Sunday morning literally almost ruined our trip (we booked via Enterprise who are super nice people and went for our trip after an hour). She was probably jealous that we were going on a trip while she was working Sunday morning. Avis, if you're reading this, please look into this and try to hire more responsible & nice people. I could've been your customer, but I won't be booking from you ever again atleast not from the same location. Thank you.

** Update, 1 week later**
Avis publicly asked me to email them to resolve. I emailed them and was told I'd see a response in about 24 hours. That was over a week ago, no response.

** Correction **
The new associate was very kind, professional, and apologetic for the misunderstanding. The supervisor was the only one that I have an issue with.

The staff lacks professionalism and their "supervisor" is rude, unhelpful, and doesn't belong in any customer-facing role. I understand and can accept policy with returns/refunds but the attitude from her was uncalled for. I used to love Avis. Not this location anymore.

If I could give no stars I would. I rented an SUV that began to have mechanical issues. I drove back to the office informed them of this and was told there were no cars in the same class as my car to trade it out with and they would call me that evening to update me if there was a car. No free upgrade was offered.

I had a very busy trip and did not have time to keep tracking them down about their malfunctioning car, I did what I should have. I never received any communication back from the company and was ignored. I called the company today to inform the manager I was never followed up with and she argued with me making justifications about her choice in not communicating and then hung up on me.

Staff was friendly good service vehicle was not so clean lots of dog hair in the back and the right very rear passenger seat belt covered with animal hair dog or cat

Service and vehicle were good but they keep deposits.i now got several investigations with my bank vs them on getting my $300.00 deposit back.i would stray away from this company
