Berry Bend South Park reviews
9 A COE campground near Warsaw MO. Three camping loops.first loop with facilities for campers with horses.second loop with 7 or 8 FHU sites - most were level, all with gravel pads, decent amount of space between sites and heavily tree's.third loop with a mix of sites - some with 30amp, some primitive - water outlets scattered around this loop. Water will be turned OFF late October thru April.
After our first night, in the FHU loop, we were the only campers in that loop.
Really nice place. Only downside is the beach is closed. Also, not much phone service anywhere there. But everything else is great.
Great place. Very quiet. Older area with older utilities but fictional. Will be going back.
A lovely campground. Clean showers. All sites have electricity! Only a few have city water hookups. 50% off with the "America the Beautiful " pass!
We were there on fourth of July weekend very busy but still pretty quiet. We enjoyed the campground nice and clean We will be back
First, I want to be clear that we enjoyed this park and would not hesitate to stay again. That said, there are some 'odd' things about the park. Loop B is a small area of 8 sites that are not on the lake at all, but the sites are big, wide, far apart and delightfully quiet and surrounded by trees. The loop was much larger at one time, with closed, paved roads to tent sites that are no longer in use. Odd, as there is no obvious reason they are closed. These B sites have full hook-ups.
Loop C is quite large with many lake view and lake front sites. Don't get too excited about lake front as they are set back quite a ways from the water. Still great views. This is home to the only restroom/shower house in the park. There are some vault toilets scattered here and there. The shower house is 'odd' as it resembles a locker room with a long row of small individual shower stalls and toilets. These could use some cleaning and maintenance, but are serviceable. Oddly, there is no A Loop, nor is there any sign that there ever was one.
There is an 'odd' arrangement at the dump station. There is a row of 4 units. The end units actually are dump stations and the center 2 are labeled for cleaning or drinking water. None of the oddities are impactful, just curiosities.
The road in and out, about 3 miles, is horrible. It is paved, but so rough that a dirt/gravel road would have been so much smoother.
The bad thing about Berry Bend these days is you have to pay $5 a day to psrl your truck and boat trailer when you put your boat in st their dock.
Been camping here for 20 years. Wonderful campground with great facilities. Recommend highly for RV or tent camping!
