Incredible customer service! Kyle took the time to repair my guitar right in front of me, and I walked out 20 minutes later with a working guitar! Very friendly and excellent service - I would highly recommend for instrument repairs!

There’s a reason why musicians from across the country use Big Dude’s Music City to get gear, have repairs done, or to get gear advice. Walk into your typical (I won’t name them, but their initials are GC), and you’ll tend to have to work really hard to get anyone to help you, that is NEVER the case at Big Dude’s, their staff are not only knowledgeable and friendly, but their musicians who genuinely want to help you no matter what your skill level may be. They never try to steer you towards more expensive gear, they help you find the right gear. I’ve had several guitar mods done by Mr. Whiteside, and they were perfect, he even showed the patience of letting me watch and ask questions out of my own curiosity on how to do things. Hands down the best music store I’ve ever been in.

Oh my goodness! I just bought a reverb pedal for my guitar, and they were very knowledgeable and kind! They know how to point you in your direction, and not to mention their way of talking with you. I appreciated the time I got to spend there. 10/10 would come again.

As a DJ I needed something to help me get the audio in my live streams clean and clear. Mr. Mark helped with that process helping me to identify what i needed to make this happen. He even went as far as looking up the specs on my Dj mixer and Pa mixer to make insure everything would work properly. I purchased the I Rig 2 and followed his instructions and the music on my live stream sounds clean and clear. I highly recommend this place for your Dj, Music, Live Stream needs

Very knowledgeable staff. Fast friendly service and the staff doesn't pressure you to buy anything. Would recommend to anyone from the beginner to the accomplished musician.

Worst guitar store in the city. Dropped off a guitar to have work done on it. Went back a week later to pick it up. They said it was completed. Paid, got home. Nothing done at all and parts still in their package in gig bag. What a disappointment. I'll never go back there for anything.

Great place that brings great musicians in for talks.
3 stars because why, of all places, is a music shop closed on a Sunday?
I'm not trying to go to Guitar Center in OP to pick up some strings

I got my first Fender Stratocaster from Big Dudes back in the 1970's. They had a place on Rangeline in Joplin, Missouri. It was run by a guy named Dick Collins who played in the band Roadhog! He was fantastic.

Now I live in Phoenix, but when visiting Kansas City, I always try to stop in and check on the KC location near Westport. This last time, they had done some remodeling with a stage directly to your left as you enter. It felt more fun and more rock and roll than any GuitarCenter. I stuck around for awhile playing some of their guitars (awesome inventory). Then I bought my great nephew a miniature Strat (thanks Doug Kenworth for the help). You can see my nephew playing in one of the photos. The other is me in 1980 - both Strats from Big Dudes.

Thanks Big Dudes for keeping me in music all of these years!

I will never buy, sell or trade another instrument or accessory from any store other than big dudes. Between the customer service, the knowledge, the honest advice and slection, it’s obvious that this is a musicians go to by musicians themselves. Oh and did I mention the point reward system? Ask about it when you are there next. I have lived in L. A, New York, and everywhere in between and by far, big dudes has the best and most consistent experiences I’ve had whether it be purchasing an item or even just stopping in for advice. Class act staff, with the knowledge and store to match.

I was overwhelmed with the quality and detail of service I received at Big Dudes. Laid back salesmen that know what they are talking about is refreshing and quite rare. The prices surprised me because they were lower than expected. I would avoid big box stores and shop here instead.peace.

This is what a real music store experience is like. People that actually KNOW equipment, front and back, and use it.

I called asking for vocal sheet music and even though they don't keep it in stock he directed me to a local shop and even gave me the number. Thanks for going the extra mile.

I have purchased lots of equipment from Big Dudes over the past several years, they are very knowledgeable and great people to work with. I have also purchased a lot of equipment online from the big online music sites, however they are not in the business of giving advice and coming up with solution. I may pay about 7% (sales tax) more to do business with Big Dudes, but is is worth it!

"buy one get one free drum heads". Sounds too good to be true? It is. Not a great deal when you pay full retail on one head which roughly twice the cost of what the head is normally sold for. All and all you end up pay slightly more than what the heads are normally sold for. Just a "heads up".

I will not be shopping here again. The staff is beyond rude and think they are entitled to your business. Ignoring your customers requests is not the best way to run a business, in my opinion. Big Dude's was a shot in the dark since I pass it on the way downtown from my office but I was very disappointed in their customer service, which is really sad because it looked like they had a pretty good array of different items.

Rented DJ gear here for years, they're honest, actually helped me save money by advising me on buying my own gear since I rented so often. They attend to everyone and try to be as honest as possible about the brands. I never had a problem with my rented gear or the mics, speakers, cables, etc I bought from them. A+
