Big Lake State Park reviews
12The camp host turned some friends away because of being in their rzr and made an excuse up of no off-road vehicles while sitting in a golf cart with a mule parked 10 feet away. If you like a place where you aren’t allowed to have fun this is the place for you. Save yourself the time and go to Mozingo.
Big Lake State Park is a great place to spend a few days. Camping sites are well kept and clean. The play set is in good shape and great for the kids. Restroom/showers on the north end of the camp grounds and restroom on the south end. Picnic area is great for day use. The shelter has two great big grills and has a historical marker about Lewis and Clark. Scout Island is also a great place for spending the day fishing. Camp host was very friendly along with the rest of the park staff.
Hidden gem, seems to get little use. Elec sites but no water so fill your water tank. On a lake. Dump station (no dump at sites)
Nice state park. Nice lake. Lots of vacation homes around it
makes it feel kinda like a city
Saw a large flock of cranes in March, very neat. Nice amenities, lots of space and few people.
Isolated from the Interstate Highway, this is a serene place to take a break from your drive. There is a playground and restrooms, as well as a boat launching area, according to the signs.
I actually don't go to the state park. I suggest turtle cove at big lake campground. Find it on Facebook
Im glad the park is back open after three years.
Always a quiet, nice place to camp.
Hard to find, nothing when you get there unless you enjoy smelly pit toilets. No picnic table, no bench, Nothing except a pit toilet. A perfect symbol of how tax dollars are wasted.
Very nice campground, the owners are very motivated to get the place finished, I'm not sure how many spots are finished. Love this place
Right now they're in the process of getting things opened up. Day use permitted, but little outside of boat ramp, picnic, fishing, etc. No nearby services. Most Lakeshore private. Lake is shallow.
