Big River Pizza Co, Cedar Hill MO

Decided to stop at a new place for Pizza this evening. Went in and was greeted by a very sweet and nice waitress. She was very happy with a genuine smile that was contagious. We were the only customers in the place at the time which seemed odd for a Saturday night. Reading the reviews online it was a hard decision to stop but we figured it might be a diamond in the rough.
The waitress took our complicated order and read it back to insure it was correct. The bill was almost 60 dollars but that included a second pizza also that we took half baked to bring home. Our food arrived and we did enjoy the pizza. Our waitress came to check on us many times and always with a smile. She stayed to talk to us since there was only one other table and many other employees that seemed to be doing little to nothing. After about 10 minutes her manager came out to yell at her about missing a phone in order that another employee took. When she explained that she was waiting on us he told her to answer the phone or leave in front of us. She had done nothing to be treated this way so my wife and I called out the manager for being a bully and having poor people skills. It also started to explain why a restaurant with good food and good service was empty on a Saturday night. If anyone needs to be fired over this it's the manager. He took what had been a pleasant experience and made it into a rotten experience. Good employees are difficult to find that actually care about the customer and want to do a good job. He probably fired her and I hate that it happened to her. My hope is that she is allowed to stay and he starts treating his workers better so they can help create a place that people want to go on a Saturday night.

Called to order the deluxe pizza that says $11.99 on there web site and they told me no its 15.99 the boss hasn't change it. You should have still honored it!

Hardly any toppings on pizza, literally 14 pieces of hamburger on a 16” pizza, skins had a little bit of bacon with no sour cream, appetizers were done 20 minutes before pizzas so they were not very good. All of this for $40…not a good deal

My husband and I really like to go into big river pizza and get the special. There wings are bigger and better than anyone else around and we have ordered them trashed. The cook is awesome and cooks as he would want his food cooked

Updating… Received a call from owner Jeff. After discussing what has been happening and events of today I will remove my other review and will update the stars from 1 to 4. I believe there is a disconnect if you try to order using the slice app and not call the store directly. I appreciate a business owner who is concerned about his customers and their satisfaction. I do like to think people try their best and I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. Thank you Jeff for reaching out to us.

If it were possible to give Big River no stars whatsoever, I would absolutely do so. I am new to the area and have been trying to get out and investigate all the local places in Jefferson County. The overall pizza was soggy and cold, toppings were scarce. Worst representation of STL style I have ever encountered. A ton of the other reviews have responses from ownership saying they will get better. Sorry Big River, you still have miles to go.

Recommend that you and your family avoid completely.

Food was good, but the restaurant was very dim and in need of some TLC. St. Louis style pizza.

Its 2021 and time to be better and not allow smoking in restaurants. Especially a pizza place.its not a bar or anything.

Used to like this place but the last couple of times we have ordered from there the food quality and definitely the service has gone down. Tonight was the worse though. Called our order in and they forgot to give us one of our meals. No problem that happens. When we called to let them know they told us they would have the next delivery driver bring it out. 45 minutes later I called to find out if the meal was on it's way. I was told it hadn't left yet because they had been slammed with take out orders. Admittedly I was not happy and drove back to the restaurant to get my meal. I asked them (angrily) why they didn't notify us it was going to be so long and told them I expected it to at least be credited since it had now been over 2 hours since we ordered our food. Salad was obviously the same when they had made over an hour ago and chicken was ice cold. As I walked out of the restaurant I looked back to see the staff laughing about the whole thing. I couldn't believe it so went back in and asked to speak to a manager (mind you these look like all high school kids) but was told there wasn't one on duty. There was no apologies for any of this and apparently one of the kids was the owners son. His attitude was the worse. On top of all this when I got back home the order was still wrong and the owners son flat out lied to me when he said there was 3 honey mustards with my salad when there was only 1. After this and the last couple of times we received food from here being bad, we are done. Really unfortunate as there aren't a lot of place around here that deliver or even go to eat at. Big River Pizza is off my list though. 2 hours I dealt with them and not even an apology, just excuses.

Used to order from them all the time, but after them forgetting almost whole entrees, spilling sauce all over bags, not caring about how the food looks, and rude customer support over the phone, they won’t be getting my business anymore. Do not recommend if you want quality meals that the cooks are proud to serve.

They take a really long time to deliver food to a close neighborhood. Waited more than an hour.

Good pizza and pasta don't really care for any of their sandwiches salads are good to

I ordered hot wings trashed. When my order arrived there was no hot sauce on the wings. I called to try to fix my order and the lady who took my order repeatedly told me my order was correct. Even with me saying I'm looking at the wings right now. She insisted my order was correct. There was no offer to fix my order or admit that it was wrong. This place is unbelievable. I don't recommend them.

Big River Pizza is one of our absolute favorite places to order from. The food is always fresh and correct! No to mention the staff makes you feel like family! We highly recommend!

I ordered some wings online at about 2: 20 pm and was enjoying them before 2: 45. The wings are delicious, the service is awesome and the speed is quite amazing. Thank you guys!

First time ordering with them and it will be the last. The pizza was nasty and over priced. We paid over $50.00 for a XL pizza and fried mushrooms. I was also charged extra to add mushrooms on the pizza and they were left off. The fried mushrooms were good but you can dip anything in ranch and I would probably love it.

We are here often, staff is usually happy to see us lol. Pizzas are great and the wings are fantastic.
