Called and explained that I would be 10 minutes late due to traffic, arrived and front desk said she would ask the staff In the Back if My child could still be seen for sport physical, front desk lady very rude and said we would have to reschedule because they were closing early and couldn’t stay behind, another women shows up late to her appointment as well and she was able to be seen. I have never had a problem with them but today I felt pretty upset I probably sit in the room waiting for the doctor longer then the 10 minutes I was late!

Parents, I do not usually write reviews, good or bad, however you all should be aware of what you're getting yourself into at this place. If you ask any questions or bring any concern to your doctors attention during a visit, you will be charged HUNDREDS extra, all while your concern is quickly dismissed, even though several other doctors later diagnosed our child with the issue we brought up here and could have been solved waaaaay earlier, sparing our child years of medical difficulty on a daily basis which has also cost us THOUSANDS. You will have bills in the HUNDREDS for simple check ups because a routine annual weight check (standing on a scale) gets billed as a "thorough examination" or having your newborns belly button swabbed for 5 seconds billed as "outpatient surgery". This place is not caring for child patients and simply preying on parents pocketbooks so badly it should be illegal, I strongly urge you don't fall victim to it.

Called to make an appointment and no one answering calls. Voicemail. Website says open til 5pm. I know it’s a Friday before a holiday but your patients are expecting to be able to call before 5 PM. It’s 4: 10 pm

Do not like the new check in policy. I shouldn't have to give third party permission to be seen.

I've been going there for some years some of the so called doctors there will make you seem like your a bad mom and will threaten you to call CPS if they feel like you might be lying or just don't believe you even when you have proof but they don't want to see it so they will say you are lying so they can look good Dr. DEAN is the worst Dr to take your baby to when it comes to breastfeeding she will try to make you put your baby in the hospital for no reason if you don't do what she says i will never trust another Dr there because of her.

Beware their so called "registration" forms actually has a form in there that asks you to allow one of their 3rd party affiliates to use your kids medical records and/or data for advertising purposes. They use this 3rd party company to process medical records electronically, and they give an incentive to Blue Springs Pediatrics to use your kids medical records albeit anonymously (but how would we know?) to provide better more targeted advertising and services to the patients that go there. Sounds sleazy to me. Just another form of data mining and should be illegal. Very sleazy way of doing business.

Dr. Huss is incredible. He did my sons circumcision at Saint Luke’s and has been incredibly supportive. He takes the time to answer any questions we have. The team here is incredible. I’m only giving 4 stars because their pre check in is too much. There’s so much to it and they thank us for pre checking but it shouldn’t be like this at a primary care office. I’d assume they’d have all they need especially if things are consistent. If they aren’t please ask. Simple.

Front desk receptionist is a joke. Snotty unprofessional attitude when talking to patients! Sad because we just moved to the area and we’re looking for a pediatrician for our son, but after having an encounter with her- we absolutely will not be going back and will be reporting her! As a front desk receptionist your professionalism and attitude should be a direct reflection of the practice. So…do you condone this receptionist behavior toward your patients or is that just what we should expect from your office in general?

Doctor Patel was great, however I can never get anyone on the phone when I call and that's been an issue for three years now. Today after my appointment Dr Patel let me know I can pick up the normal paperwork from the front desk. I left and forgot but came right back and asked for my daughter's paperwork on her diagnosis and a return to work statement. The lady at the front of desk told me she had no idea what I was talking about and that they don't do print offs of the diagnosis and that I have to specifically get it off the portal which iv been coming here for 3 years and never had this issue. She told me they have never printed that stuff off which is a lie and then tried to tell me that I'd have to wait on the Dr to sign off on it and I told her that the Dr already told me to come get it at the front desk. I left without the paperwork because I was close to yelling at her because of her attitude and laziness.

We have been coming to this pediatric group for 4 years now and have never had an issue. The doctors and nurses are all amazing.
However, I’ve noticed the last few months that they are incredibly slow.
I will wait on hold for over 20 minutes just to make an appointment.
And the last few visits we have spent over 20 minutes in the waiting room, and then another 30+ minutes in the exam room waiting to be seen by the doctor. By the time we finally get seen, my four year old is tired of waiting and is full of energy, I have to fight to get my daughter to sit still so I can listen to what the doctor is saying.
It’s even more frustrating because when we go the waiting room isn’t busy and the parking lot is practically empty.

Unfortunately, I think it is time for me to find a new pediatric office.

This pediatric group was my favorite for the longest time. I have spent HOURS on the phone just to make appointments. All of my children are at least six months behind on their well child check ups because you can never reach an actual person to set an appointment. The appointment request through the patient portal is an absolute JOKE! I looking for a new pediatric office for my five children after 15 years because the hassle to make appointments is that DIFFICULT.

I’ve been bringing my kids here since my oldest was a few months old, nearly 12 years. We love Dr. Dean and everyone there is professional and helpful.

Dr. Lisa Fletcher has been our family pediatrician for about 2 years. We haven’t had a complaint until now with our newborn. We know their vaccine policy, but due to religious beliefs, there is one vaccine we refuse to give to our children. We went to the vaccine appointment after speaking with the front desk about it and they said to talk to Dr. Fletcher about it at our appointment because it’s not that big of a deal. We were upfront & said we understand their vaccine policy at the office and understand if we can no longer be patients, but there is only one vaccine I cannot give due to religious grounds.

Instead of professionally explaining their policy and letting me know they can no longer serve my family, Dr. Fletcher completely berated and belittled my wife about how she was a better advocate for our children than we were and that we must be okay with dead children. After this she tried to calmly explain our beliefs were religious and again understand if they can no longer serve my family and she continued to disrespect her and tell her how unethical her religious beliefs were. All of this in front of our children. I couldn’t believe the unprofessionalism and audacity to spit on our religious beliefs when a simple “we can no longer serve you” would have sufficed. We immediately left the office and called to make a new appointment with a new pediatrician so the certified official letter they sent the next day ejecting my children from their practice really wasn’t needed.

My girls will no longer be patients at this facility. We went in for a sports physical for my 14 year old daughter & the doctor made her extremely uncomfortable trying to talk to her about getting her on birth control.

We switched from Independence Pediatric. Love the staff but, it is very difficult to contact them.

My child has been seeing Dr. Huss for a little over a year. He has been nothing but pleasant, informative and takes the time to answer any questions &/or concerns I may have. Dr. Huss gets 5 stars from us.

My issue and reason for the low rating is due to the accounting/billing department. My child is double covered. For an annual visit in Oct. 2019, I was charged $550 because of an issue they had with billing the insurance. In good faith and because they were threatening to send this balance to collections, I paid it in full Dec. 2019. As of this review, I have not received my money back despite the office being fully aware that legally, they have to return that money to me.

They claimed that they didn't get my correct insurance information until a year after the appointment which is incorrect as I have proof that this information was provided an additional time in March 2020. They also told me that they'd contacted the insurance company to file an appeal; however, the insurance company informed me that the office had never made contact with them.

I would really appreciate if someone that isn't concerned with deceiving patients and is concerned with doing the right thing would contact me and provide me with a check for the $550 that I'm due.
