BomBay Boat Rental Company at Camden on the Lake, Lake Ozark MO

I am very surprised at the negative reviews. We have been customers at Bombay for 3 years and the staff is always helpful and accommodating. They definitely deserve 5 stars and I highly recommend them.

This sweet girl named Mariah was there when I went to rent and she was the cutest, sweetest helper. I loved her so much and I definitely recommend her as a host. She is the best worker I’ve had there.

Showed up at their hut at the resort and they appeared closed during their normal business hours (08/13 at around 2: 20pm). We called the main number and they said to just hang out because someone would be back shortly. Waited over 45 minutes for them to return to the shop but they never showed up. Saw other people wait and give up as well. Poorly run business.
I did not have a reservation. When I called I was told someone would be back shortly (not almost an hour later)

Never ever or would never recommend this company to anyone. We rented a 2 waverunner and only drove it for 10 mins because one of my friend fell out, and we decided not to go further anymore. Never remember of hitting the waverunner anywhere. Before we left the hotel, I noticed there’s an extra charge from my account. I called them and the say additional $214 for the damage. Like wth. We pay $534 for 10 mins. I sent an email to their assistant director. All they respond is you agreed and signed the waver to pay any damage. What a joke. Don’t waste your with this company. This company is a joke.

On Friday the 21st of August I picked up a rental pontoon boat. The team did their normal checks on the boat and I was off to enjoy the lake. As soon as I get passed the no wake sign and take the boat up to speed the Bimini top on the boat starting flapping in the wind. After investigating why this has happened I realize that the back brackets are missing that support the top. I determined to do a boat check after this happened and found that the horn on the boat doesn’t work. This is a direct violation of boaters safety 101. I was able to return the boat and get a replacement but had to drive the faulty boat 5 miles down to the new harbor. I returned the boat the next day and voiced my concerns.

I rented 2 jet ski on August 22nd and we picked up one that the hood was duck taped on and the other flashing a warning label. Long story short the hood flew off of the one and hit my husband. I would highly recommend not renting from this company. None of their boats are safe and you are likely to be injured due to faulty equipment.

Worst boat rental ever boat broke down on us! Couldn’t get get a mechanic to fix it tell Monday and this happens on a Saturday. We drove 8 hours to get there and paid a lot of money to rent this boat. And to top it off the lights on the boat didn’t work the stereo didn’t work! Gages on the boat didn’t work ether. Customer service was a joke! And super rude! It ruined our planes at the lake of the Ozarks! So please if you wanna save yourself a headache go somewhere else!

They were very unprofessional and there were issues with the boat, we continually called and checked in to get any information at all and they gave us zero information. And then charged us full price.

So I reserved a jet ski at the CAMDEN location for 6 hours on a Saturday. I chose to pick the jet ski up at 10am and drop it off at 4pm. So I went to the Camden to pick it up and they told me they had no reservations under my name. So after about 20min of them trying to figure something out they had told me I reserved it at the four seasons lodge. I have the proof of where I reserved it and the address. I’m on the 1 mm and the four seasons lodge is on the 13mm. So I showed them my receipt from CAMDEN location and said I was incorrect. DO NOT RESERVE ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. I should’ve known from the reviews so I hope whoever sees this doesn’t reserve from them. These 2 places were nothing but 16-17yo kids working and don’t know what they’re doing.

Recommend this company! Rented a boat with a bunch of friends for a weekend on the lake and was not disappointed. The boat was big enough for my entire group & we had an amazing time.

They scammed me. They took the money twice and they didn't responded to me when i tried to call them more than once. (edit) two weeks now and they still are telling me the supervisor gonna contact me asap.

The boats are advertised as being new every year. We rented a Cobalt 220S. The boat was not cleaned between renters. There was trash, spilled sticky, pink drinks and tanning oil
on the seats. The boat was very abused, only one buoy was functional, seats were torn and partially adjustable/functional. The outside of the boat had several screws sticking out that were sharp and hazardous. Navigation lights and speedometer didn’t work. Gas gauge worked intermittently.
We made it through the rental period but were very disappointed with the quality based on the cost and marketed expectations. Would not rent there again.

We reserved a Cobalt 220 Ski Boat for 24 hours starting from 1: 00 PM on Saturday. Before taking the boat out an employee went over the boat with me and performed a check. During the check, it was discovered that the navigation light was out so I was told to not drive the boat after dawn. Well, we had plans to go tubing, dock the boat at a friend's house to have dinner, and then drive the boat back to our condo later that night. However, since we could not drive the boat at night we had to take the boat back to the rental place, pick up our car, drive to our friends house, and then drive back to pick up the boat in the morning. This took several hours away from us on the water. Very respectfully, I requested that Bombay refund us some money or let us keep the boat a few hours longer on Sunday. I was told someone already reserved the boat on Sunday so we were unable to keep it out any longer and they were not going to refund me any money. Not a dime. Their reasoning was that it was really an 8 hour rental and the other 16 hours were free. GEE, THANKS! The boat was a typical rental boat. It ran well, but it showed a little abuse. For example, I was only able to dock the boat on the left side because the buoy plugs on the right side of the boat were broke and the captain's chair was all screwed up and was hard to get in a comfortable position. On a side note, all the employees were very nice, courteous, and knowledgeable.

Wonderful Tritoon for 6 days before the 4th of July. We had a minor fuel filter issue and Cody met us at the dock for a timely repair. Hats off to Jason Edge for making the charged correct with a one day refund. Boat itself was practically brand new and room for 15 people! What a great way to explore Lake of the Ozarks!
