I will never forget breakdown coming to my high school. Not only was their “performance” extraordinarily outdated, but it was also extremely triggering and offensive. We were made to watch someone “die by suicide” by cutting ON STAGE. Yes, there was blood. We were made to believe that assault (which we also had to watch) was the fault of the victim. I was hospitalized a few weeks after Breakdown came to my school because we were forced to sit through this programming that made me deeply guilty, ashamed, and fearful of any potential “immoral” choices I made. Funny to me that this is supposed to be a support group. Frankly, Breakdown is an irresponsible, exploitative, conservative “support” group that is more harmful than good.

Excellent balance to the common urban exposure to negative inputs. Offers a view of hard work, honesty and good ethics in dangerous areas with low access to such messages. Support today. Note negative review sources are common themes that are precisely the problem in urban USA.

Breakdown stl has taught me how to be a servant leader. I have found a community of like minded kids my age with a passion to educate and empower others! Yes the topics we touch on during performance are mature but that's what people my age are dealing with theses days. Our performances are for high schoolers because that's what high schoolers are dealing with at this time, and to be honest so are some middle schoolers. Being apart of BDSTL has given me the knowledge to find my voice and the confidence to share it!

Very bad. The lessons taught throughout the show were very biased towards conservative views.

I appreciate the bold stand this group takes to educate our high school teens. Our teens have to deal with some tough choices in the world in which we live in today. This program hits these choices head on. I would love to say that all these issues are being dealt with in the home life. However, looking at the statistics, it's clear to see that is not the case. It takes a bold group of people to say this is the reality in this world and we want to make a difference. Teens do have options. However, they are not aware of all the options. The program states this is for teens. I have teens and understand these kids know all about these issues. I would love to say as a mom they don't, But they do. Great program that every teen should see. Because at some point in their high school years they're going to encounter these hard choice issues.
