Cafe Manhattan reviews
15Always excellent food and service - every time. A St. Louis classic! Their turkey club and soups/chilis are unmatched, and their shakes and malts are amazing.
Ok, I blame the owner. They are hugely under-staffed. I ordered some carryouts on a Thrusday and was treated terribly. Yes, they were busy, and they may prefer people who actually sit there paying tips. But I ordered $90 of food; did I not deserve some respect? By the way, I was in a hurry because their small parking lot was full and I had to park on the street, blocking someone's driveway.
Being from NY finally good pizza. Nice atmosphere and food was great. Vegi lasagna was out standing.
This is a diner blast from the past. We went at noon on a Thursday and waited 10 min for a table. I bet a weekend would be packed! We had a turkey reuben/fries and a 1/2 club/potato soup. First off, the sandwiches are HUGE. The bread looks like 6-7 in wide and both sandwiches had two layers of meat. They also tasted delicious. Good quality items. The amount of soup and fries were also more than enough. All.in all, we were in and out on a busy lunch day in an hour and had two full meals and drinks for $31! The service was spot on and the value can't be beat for the quality and amount of food. Highly recommend and I look forward to going back and trying the milkshakes and pizza.
What a great experience! All around awesome place to eat, and spend time. I hadn't been here in about 20 years, and it was even better than I remembered! My Carnegie pastrami sandwich was pretty good, served hot, flavorful and loaded with meat! My 10 year old son crushed an adult sized BLT, milkshakes were delicious, and the Central Park pizza was savory and mouthwatering. The artichokes, kalamata olives, and cheese on the pizza were salty and went very well with the white wine they served. Customer service was excellent! This place was packed on a Friday night! Thank you Cafe Manhattan, what an authentic 50's diner experience.
Cool place to see. Got takeout and food was good not perfect order option wasn't right.
A gem! Delicious shakes and food but more than that. Great folks are working and running this 35 year old classical American shake and sandwich joint.
Had the vegetarian sandwich with avocado, can't remember what it was called but it was huge and delicious. Parking is a challenge but a trip here is worth it!
You what to go to a old fashion diner. Cafe Manhattan is the spot for you.the food is fantastic.
My daughter and grandson visit often and I see why. My husband and I enjoyed our first dining experience. Look forward to stopping by again.
I had a chicken sandwich which was very good. Took forever to get the food. The waiter was a young kid. He was not very good. I heard him talking to another server about how tickets he had. He was not happy. Maybe he should work somewhere else
Awesome place! Everything they make is the best. Staff is great. Old school decorations are awesome. One of the st louis area hidden gems. Possibly the best toasted ravioli in the whole world. Booths tables and a small soda fountain bar with stools. Eat here once and you will keep coming back. Many items on the menu including New York style pizza. Old school shakes. Fast service so if they are busy no worries a table will open up fast.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant in Clayton Missouri. We had never ever heard of this place before. However it goes back in time to the 1950s of milkshakes and malts. It was a wonderful awesome experience with great food.
Great customer service and amazing atmosphere food was fantastic I recommend this breath of fresh air to anyone looking for a diner with a kick️️️️️
