Camp Tomahawk Tube Float and Water Adventure, Galena MO

I love this place. Go there several times every summer. The float trip isn't long but you can make a whole day of it if you stop a couple times. There are rope swings to enjoy!

Came to camp and float with a big group, and Lester was an awesome host! Many big and natural campsite options, with plenty of room to spread out, the floating options are great and reasonably priced, and we're hoping to be back to camp and float more times, and longer, next Summer!

Fantastic place to relax and unwind at a great price! Been several times and always have a blast! Can't recommend enough!

This will now be our go-to float trip spot! Check-in was smooth, and we were in the water 20 mins later. The river and banks were clean and the tubes were well kept. It was so quiet and peaceful (went in off season), and we didn’t run into any other folks on the river all day. We’ll be back!

This place is beautiful! Their check in/gift shop is awesome! Everyone is friendly and helpful. Great place for family and friends!

This was a great float for me and my 3 boys, 11,6 and 4 years old! Would 100% recommend for anyone! It's a slow lazy float to relax and take it all in!

I've been to Camp Tomahawk twice and I was very happy with both experiences. The staff there was very welcoming and helpful in answering my questions. The bathrooms were clean. The landscape is breathtakingly gorgeous. We floated the river and had an amazing time. I was able to take my 4 small children to float with no issues and was accommodated a large raft (they didn't have many). I was pleasantly surprised with the options they have available in their store. We stayed for a total of 10 days between both trips and we had no reason to leave the camp ground for supplies. My experience and my childrens' experiences were wonderful and I would recommend this place to family and friends. We were there for POTV events, however, I'm thankful to POTV for showing us this place. We're looking forward to going back, POTV or not Thank you guys for more good memories.

I would just like to add that there was a LOT going on during the time I was there. There were a ton of people there and I thought the staff did an amazing job with keeping up the camp grounds for a small family business. I was very impressed. From what I've gathered Lester is a genuine man with a good heart. I'm very thankful for the hospitality we were shown. Thank you guys for all of your hard work.

I love coming here to float it's so much fun and I love how they fixed it up looks so much better out here this year BUT to charge for the cooler floats and other floats is ridiculous.

We arrived on 07/05/23 and stayed until 07/11/23 for an event there. Lester the owner was very nice to allow me to ship some items there before my arrival. Everyone there was so nice and the 2 mile float was AMAZING!

I was here for an event 7/6-7-10. What a great place! There is plenty of room to wander. The scenery is great with the river against the echoing bluffs. I sat out one morning watching three whitetails feeding along a ridge, and welcomed the neighboring cows waking me up every morning. Hope to be back next year!

I will admit when we first pulled in, I was pretty concerned because it looked pretty sketchy. When we went into the office to check in, the girl that was working the counter was incredibly unwelcoming and came across as though we were inconveniencing her. We went to the office another time to ask about firewood and ice and were again met with a less than friendly attitude and were made to feel like we were inconveniencing girl at the counter. After that, I decided I would not go back to the office for anything further. The sites themselves are very nice and we enjoyed camping right along the river. The porta potty by us was AWFUL; there was feces all over and someone decided to take a dump in the urinal which remained there, baking in the heat, the duration of our stay. Overall, the sites themselves are great but the hospitality was greatly lacking and the porta potty's definitely need to be better checked. Due to the unfriendly service we received, I would not return; I understand that people have bad days but we were treated poorly more than once and that's a deal breaker for me.
