Campbell House Museum reviews
5Wow. Compare the photos of the Campbell house and the Scott Joplin house then visit each. Worlds apart. That being said, the Campbell house is an excellent representation of how the upper class lived in that era, and I was impressed with how well the house and contents have been maintained over the years. Kudos to the Campbell House Foundation for protecting this place and promoting its legacy.
A great museum showing the early days of St. Louis. The house was owned by the Campbells, which were some of the founding families of St. Louis.
This tour gave us a true picture of a Victorian home, ESPECIALLY since everything in the house is original AND there are so many well-preserved photos!
Dennis, our docent is both passionate & extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the property.
Amazing history! And I believe a spirit popped in to say hello. A cabinet door opened while we were talking in the cook's room...
This is an unbelievable experience. The house, story, and furnishings are all restored and so unique. If visiting St. Louis, this should be a top attraction, along with the Arch, Zoo, Soulard, Lafayette Square, Forest Park, and Anheuser Busch Brewery. The tour is very reasonably priced and worth every penny.
