I’m going to start by saying this review may be a little bit longer than what most people want to read but I promise if you read through the whole thing, you will never use anybody else for your auto care needs than this car X location…
I have a 2017, GMC sierra SLT and I took it to a different automotive shop (who will remain nameless) because it had a check engine light and the brakes were causing the truck to shake violently when they were engaged. I got a total bill of $1400 and some change. After going over the list of things that need to be repaired with this automotive shop, I remembered that I had just recently had my brakes done at a car ex location in Republic Missouri. I called that car ex and the gentleman said it’s possible that my brakes are under warranty. So I called the local car X and got ahold of Bernie who is the manager at the location in Saint peters. After Bernie heard what all was going on with my vehicle, he instructed me to bring it to him so he could at least have his specialist. Take a look at the brakes and see what the reason was for the check engine light. I dropped my truck off that same day and Bernie was very honest and said the reason for the check engine light is a part that they were unable to procure from any of their suppliers But said the brake situation he could most definitely beat the price of the other auto shop, and he would look into it to see if it was under warranty. I figured I would get a call later, saying nothing was under warranty and he would shoot me a price for all brand new brakes, I was wrong. Bernie went way out of his way to call the shop down in Republic Missouri and talk to his corporate office about my brakes and the warranty. Bernie contacted me and told me the brakes themselves are completely under warranty and he also said he was trying to see if he could get the labor under warranty. I later found out that Bernie came in that day to make those phone calls on his day off, and I was completely blown away. I was told by another employee that the chances of the labor being warranty was very slim and that I should plan to pay X amount of money for the labor on the brakes. The labor on the brakes was not a cheap bill by any means, but it was way better than having to pay for four brakes and pads. The suppliers sent them the wrong part for one of my breaks so I was unable to pick up the truck that day. The next day I called and spoke to Bernie first thing in the morning and asked if we could arrange a payment for the labor. Bernie said, ” well before you get all worked up about the labor price let me hear from the other couple people in corporate and it’s still possible it will be under warranty”. Bernie reassured me that he would get me into my truck which will be safe for me and my family and we will work out the details on the labor if it’s not under warranty. I forgot to mention that the other auto shop that told me it would be $1400 to fix my brakes and the other part to fix the check engine light was only replacing the front brakes on my truck not front and rear.

I want to finish this review by saying I didn’t know Bernie before this situation and he could’ve just done what the other auto shop did and shoot me an astronomical price to replace the brakes on my vehicle and send me out the door. This man knows what it’s like to be a paycheck to paycheck family and not have extra money sitting around for the cost of auto repairs. I can’t say enough great things about Bernie and his workers at this location and I will always give them my business from this point out.

Thank you Bernie for everything you have done for me. At this point you have blessed my family in a way that you can never imagine.

Andre is amazing. I was in a bind and he was able to get me in to get a tire replaced. He took the time to show me what was wrong and then what they were doing to fix it. Plus, when I asked him to check the brakes he gave me an honest assessment that everything was fine and estimated timeline for when they’d need to be replaced. I appreciate the honesty and will be back.

Fast and friendly service. Very clean waiting area. Reasonable cost, as well. We will definitely be back!

I'm updating so you know they're still great. I found out I needed an IDOD for a car with an out of state title when I went to register my vehicle. Everywhere was telling me at least a week out to just check my vin matched and make an odometer reading, but I needed to get my car registered that day. I called to make sure they had someone who could do it. Meanwhile, I was sitting and waiting at a valvoline where they said it was a 4 hour wait. I showed up and was in and out in less than 45 minutes with no appt. Not to mention, Andre was great. I watched him take the time to explain to a young lady the different types of oil they could use for an oil change and how it could affect their vehicle, talk on the phone with a customer about recommendations/what was absolutely necessary to get up to code for their safety inspection, and go line by line with a customer who had a concern on what they were being charged for. Consistently impressed here when all the other shops are trying to upcharge/upsell, etc. (Updated 2023)

Always great! They always find time to squeeze you in and update you throughout the repair. Quick and reasonable. Highly recommend. (2020)

There was a nice gentleman who works the front desk at this location on Friday morning on Dec. 29th. I wish I could remember his name. He put my windshield wiper on that came off for no charge. I also saw him deal with a very difficult customer in front of me and never showed any signs of irritation. I could learn patience from this guy. Awesome employee!

Had to make an appt for emissions but it was end of Dec which makes sense. Had nothing but pleasant experiences with guy I talked to on the phone and in person.

The most amazing auto service ever! I needed an emissions test ASAP one afternoon and had not had a chance to make an appointment. I called like 15 places and all were booked out. But the person who helped me here was super kind, helpful, and got me in for an emissions test very quickly!
The service here is amazing. I highly recommend this place for all your needs!

I promise you in all my years, this seems to be the worst car place ive ever experienced. I have brought 2 vehicles here 2 VEHICLES! And im paying thousands of dollars for nothing. Both vehicles still have problems. One doesnt even start and they cant tell me why.this is messing up my families life dude.i cant even sell the vehicles because THEY ARENT FIXED! The future of automotive care.

We really appreciated the work these guys did on our car. We had specific time frames and they went above and beyond for us. The cost was very reasonable for the service done. Andre is so very kind and professional, he was great to work with.

I picked up a screw in one of my tires and called to have it repaired. The manager was very accommodating. I was able to drop it off that day and it was repaired in a couple hours. I know it was a simple repair but the manager provided excellent customer service which to me is notable in today's world.

Manager and workers seemed very polite.the last time i took a safety inspection they passed with two blown struts, and two axels that were near falling apart, took again was told my car wouldnt pass for windshield wiper and my tire moving when driving asked the manager and inspector both how that is possible the inspector said “it’s up to the inspector it’s a subjective pass or fail” meaning there’s no true standard to follow it’s just “up to” who looks at your car, as again they passed my car w blown struts, axels and more that could’ve RISKED MY LIFE.never again
