Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center

I was there for two and 1/2 years they treated me very bad I lived in Lamar mo. I wanted a transfer to my home town but instead they transferred me up by st. Louis mo.about 7 hours from my family so now I'm in a place that it like being in jail

Carthage health and rehab not only has amazing staff to provide resident care, but those staff are also always so welcoming to new team members and always willing to help them succeed.

My mother was sent to this facility a few years ago, after breaking her hip in a fall. I honestly did not have the greatest expectations;as she was notoriously 'difficult'. She refused to stay seated, refused to ask for assistance when transferring, would trip over her oxygen tubing etc, etc. My goodness, she gave those poor CNAs a run for their money. Fortunately, we as a family were able to recognize that no matter how hard the staff tried to keep her from hurting herself, short of restraining her (which certainly could not happen), if she was determined to try to walk around with a broken hip, well then, that's what she was going to do, lol.
The CNas were amazing and attentive, the housekeeping team kept the place looking nice and the nurses were caring and helpful.
The rehabilitation team was wonderful, as well.
Although her stay there was short, it left a positive and lasting impression upon me. Have definitely recommended this place.
The only area that I can see that would need improvement would be the pay rate of the staff that is most hands on with the residents on a daily basis. My mother was quite sad to learn that her 'girls' weren't paid as well as she thought they should be. As I said, she was difficult:)

Great place to work at. They certified you as well as a CNA. Then they can send you to become a CMT and after being with the company for 1 year they will send you to nursing school. Great place to learn a lot and get a head start into the medical field.

I highly recommend working at Carthage Health and Rehab. We have a strong family team providing resident care 24/7.

I am excited that our facility is now offering out patient therapy to our community. This is just another option after a rehab stay. Staff is great and go out of their way to help.

This place is the best nursing home I have worked at. They are welcoming and there’s always someone to help me and answer my questions. Mainly I love being here with the residents!

This place was terrible. My mom was here for two months and ended up passing away because we believe is because she fell twice in the same day because nobody was watching her. The first time was in her room and the staff was unaware till a resident mentioned it. She had 5 staples in the back of her head while being at the hospital. When she returned she fell forward and hit her forehead. None of the staff have compassion for the residents. You will see them all on their phones when they could be helping residents or at least spending time with them. The funny thing is when you question them they mention they are short staff. We reported this to the state and of course they said they didn’t find any negligence which the attorneys said they wouldn’t expect anything else because the state investigators are corrupt. Who’s to say how many other residents were mistreated.
