Cesar's Old Mexico reviews
19Super fresh, fast and our server was on top of everything even with them being slammed! We highly recommend.
We enjoyed our meal and the waitress was interactive with us. However, we felt like the meal was a little overpriced.
Fantastic as always. I like to sit at the bar and watch the cooks work their magic they work so well together.the are amazing!
We've had good TexMex before, but this place is amazing; it's on another level. Portions are huge and service was friendly and helpful.
30 minute wait time. Food was very good and authentic. Family friendly, staff was very friendly but I felt a little rushed. Clean bathrooms. Clean restaurant. $44.00 for 2 people
We came on a busy Friday night…let me tell you…It is worth the wait! We enjoyed a margarita on the patio while we waited and once we were seated — GREAT service and quick food and drink. Thank you for a fun and delicious date night!
I went today and was given a receipt with my total. I didn’t write a tip on the receipt because I left a cash tip. Come to find out I was still charged and extra 11 dollars on my total smh
My all time favorite Mexican restaurant. How favorite you ask? Only that I drive 10 hours to eat here whenever I get the chance! Delicious food, the best monster margaritas and Cesar & Sandra, Ed, Christina, Corinna, Edith, Yessi, Yali, and all the staff are terrific!
Hands down best steet tocos i have ever had. Great atmosphere good service. New favorite place to go
My girlfriend shared this local gem and we wouldn't go anywhere else! The food is always outstanding no matter what you order. The drinks and service 5 stars as well. I promise if you are wanting some great Mexican and have not been it's a must. My Mexican food frustrations have ended thanks to Cesar's Old Mexico restaurant!
In my opinion, this is the best Mexican restaurant in Springfield, if not all of the Ozarks! Great food, great service! We've ate here many times, never disappointed.
I got a steak torta with avocado, jalapenos, and queso added. It had great flavor and was absolutely delicious. I haven't had one of these in years because most Mexican restaurants do not offer these. The staff was friendly, we were seated quickly, and the food came out quickly. It was a little noisy in there but to no fault of the restaurants. I would completely recommend adding this to the top of your Mexican restaurant list. Go Grab you some Food!
The food is great, but last time I went was informed they no longer did carry out. That was 80% of my business with them.
Will not see much of them anymore.
EDIT: I have changed my review to 5 star, as they now allow take out orders. Will be visiting regularly now. Have never been disappointed with the food. Always top notch. Try the carnitas torta.
When it starts to get a little colder outside, there is almost nothing that warms my soul better than pozole. I do like it better when they use radishes, onion, lime, and cilantro for the garnish rather than sometimes they put cabbage shreds instead of radishes. The last time I ordered it, it was not on the menu but they sold it to me anyway. It is so wonderful. I’m so thankful there is a place to get it.
I'm originally from southern California and I'm on a personal journey to find good authentic Mexican food in Springfield. Having said that, I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food. I got a chicken enchilada and a chicken taco combo plate. The chicken was very flavorful but there really was no difference between the two. One of the first things I noticed on the menu was that they prepared and served pupusas. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is an El Salvadorian dish, not Mexican. Also, most Mexican restaurants out here have something called a Californian burrito. Sorry to burst your bubble Springfield, but Californians do NOT put french fries in their burritos. At least not in their authentic Mexican food.
Food was amazing. But this place is very loud and very busy. During Peak times, prepared to wait an hour or more. Every bite was worth it
The BEST Mexican restaurant I’ve eaten at! California Burrito and shredded beef Chimichanga (best Chimi ever) and 1-2-3 with Tamales (best) and the Waitress rocks! Loved watching the young guys cooking…you gotta eat here! Highly recommended
Food and service were good. I didn't like how loud it was and hard to have a conversation.
Cesar’s is THE place to go for authentic Mexican food in Springfield. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere tops it all off. It is a small and cozy place with great “old Mexico” style decor. Part of the kitchen is out in the open and you can watch them cook your food at the bar. Spotless kitchen. The staff is a delight. Edith is especially wonderful. Try the lingua tacos, they will not disappoint. Overall, an absolute must if you are wanting Mexican food in Springfield. (As a side note-there is a place called “Mexican Villa” that seems popular here but it is awful. It is not at all authentic Mexican and caters to a more Americanized version).
