Chico's Produce, De Soto MO

I pass by this business regularly for years now and occasionally have stopped to grab a few things. The staff has always been very nice and helpful. Today though, I met “Lisa”.

I won’t be giving them my business anymore. Their sign out front stated, jumbo shrimp $12.99lb. I grab a couple other items and head to the counter. I ask “Lisa” for a pound of the jumbo shrimp. She opens the freezer and gives me a bag of jumbo shrimp. I tell her that I only need one pound and ask what the weight of that bag is. She says 2.4lbs! I tell her again, I only need one pound. I get the deep sigh and eye roll because now she has to actually do her job and weigh out only one pound. The exaggerated extra time taken and the additional sighs was laughable. I pay cash and she has the audacity to ask if I want my 47 cents change! I then have to ask for my receipt which gets me another eye roll. Never again!

If I could give zero, I would.
Used to frequent a lot. New owners now. They used to be fair honest and friendly. Now, not so much.
Went there for seafood. Asked for crab legs, they had two. Asked for the heavier ones, which were pricey.
Forgot my wallet, ram to my car. The crooked lady traded the lighter ones out and charged me for the heavier ones. Which were very poor quality.
You can bet you will never get my money, and I will tell everyone of your despicable dishonest business.
What happened to honest, good customer service driven businesses?

I went here to buy fresh fruits and veggies, I as going to spend more and get mums as well but the lady at the counter was so unpleasant that I decided not to spend anymore money at that time. Otherwise the stand is nice just not this particular employee. That makes all the difference to me.

This place is the diggity. Only places with equally great produce and plants are their other family locations throughout the region. Best quality produce, seafood, plants, flowers, and garden decor, all at a fair price and one in your local community. Worth the time anytime to stop by, you'll be glad you did.

We stopped on the way home from a quick road trip.
Their plants looked wilted and sad this time. When we stopped last year, we grabbed a few jars of DELICIOUS pickles and beets that we LOVED, but they didn't have them this time.
They had the biggest zucchini I've EVER seen. Beautiful Arkansas tomatoes, canteloupe, seeded and seedless watermelons, plums, to name a few.
I thought the produce was a bit pricey, but they have every right to charge what they want. We'll stop by in a few weeks when we pass by again.

Always polite, and neighborly. Nice touch away from big Corp.retailers.
